Last weekend we were honored to welcome Mekwan Tulpin (Cree) to our MN Chill girls practice.
She shared the origins and cultural teachings of the Creator’s Game and guided our players through traditional lacrosse. A powerful reminder that this sport is more than competition—it’s medicine, community, and responsibility.
Mekwan made history as the first Mushkegowuk Cree from Treaty 9 Territory to compete on the World Cup stage and now serves as captain of the Haudenosaunee Nationals.
Grateful for her time, wisdom, and leadership.

Our Story
The Minnesota Chill is an All-State travel lacrosse club that provides opportunities for local youth and high school lacrosse players to represent Homegrown and the Minnesota Lacrosse Community at national tournaments throughout the year.
Minnesota Chill players compete and train at the highest level, see and connect with different parts of the country, form lasting friendships with teammates and coaches, as well as help carry-on a storied MN lacrosse tradition.
Created to provide players with a venue to improve their abilities both on and off the field, the Minnesota Chill is the embodiment of the Homegrown experience. An extension of Homegrown's developmental programming, Minnesota Chill leverages relationships locally and nationally to provide players with not only experienced coaches, but a one-of-a-kind player experience that is both competitive and fun.
Coaches work to foster character, confidence, and a sense of community to help players become more college ready.
