This year, Colonial Cup will be the weekend before US Nationals, making it convenient for teams to bring their boats to SSA for a week of sailing.

🦀Colonial Cup: June 6-7, 2026
↪️There will be a clinic followed by a happy hour on Friday, June 5th

🇺🇸US Nationals: June 11-14, 2026
↪️June 10th is a measurement and practice day
↪️Sailors have the option to sail a 2-day event (Sat/Sun) and participate in the Wells Trophy

It was a long fought battle between Rodriguez and Quintero with neck and neck finishes, but Rodriguez was able to cinch the win by 1 point.

Going in to the last day of the event, Quintero and Rodriguez are tied with 9 points. There will be a lot of fighting today for who ends up on the podium!

The kicked off yesterday with 17 snipes on the line enjoying Miami’s sun and 15 kts of breeze! 🌞🌊🌴

Coconut Grove’s own Enrique Quintero headlines. Last year, Ernesto Rodriguez walked away with the Bacardi Invitational Regatta Snipe Champion title. This year, he’s got some competition. Quintero with Lorena Fundora kick off 2026 Bacardi in pole position, a point ahead of 2025 Snipe World Championship Runner-Up Rodriguez, now sailing with Spanish crew Marina Cano.

“We had a great day despite a few mistakes,” said Quintero. “Speed-wise, we’re good. Strength-wise, we’re good. But we’ve got a few more days to go.”

When asked about beating his training partner Rodriguez, Quintero commented, “He’s one of the best in the world. Sharing the race course with someone like this is an honor.”

“The snipe fleet is super fortunate to be a part of this prestigious event alongside the Stars and all the fleets,” he added.
