It is with great sadness that we share that our long time page owner and dear friend, Tom Pham, passed away quietly at home with his family on March 7th, 2021.

Few of us spent the weekend camping and flying at superstition mountain desert. So much fun and and had a great time.

The field is CLOSED until further notice. DO NOT FLY or access the field for any reason.

I will notify everyone when the field reopens and let everyone know the new operating procedures. I will be working this current issue to attempt to resolve as quickly as possible.

The Veteran’s Day event was a huge success. We had a large turn out including both MRCF members and many guest flyers. The weather was great snd the flying fantastic. It was great to get together with MRCF members but to also make some new friends from some of the other local clubs.

A special thanks to Frank Gagliardi our event CD. He also secured the delicious food we had for lunch. Also would like to thank Pam Rapheal who served the lunch and Mark Lukins - our DJ for the day.

Tom Mulder, a former MRCF member took home the President’s choice award for his Stearman biplane.

We are scheduled to have a meeting nest Saturday Nov 21. However, the board felt this was to close the the Veteran’s day event so we are postponing the next club meeting to
Saturday Dec 5. Please try and attend. We have some important items to discuss.

This is your official invitation from the Board to honor our Veterans by attending our annual MCRF Veterans Day Fly-In. Attached is a printable PDF file that you can share with other RC enthusiasts that you think may have an interest in our event. Because today we live in a complex world, and there is only so much space on a flyer, make sure you, and anyone you invite, visit our website at miramarrcflyers.com for important event information details.

We are inviting RC enthusiasts from all over the area and participation could be huge. This will require an “all-hands-on-deck” level of participation from the Membership at large. Mark your calendar and expect requests from your Board for volunteers to support this event.

This is a quick reminder of a few important issues that face our club and all our members. Please take a quick minute to read over these to help us ensure the safety and enjoyment of everyone.

Health: Current DOD and CDC guidelines direct us to wear masks (over our NOSE and MOUTH), socially distance, wash our hands, and avoid crowds. Be smart, cognizant of your surroundings, and courteous to other flyers that may have underlying health issues. Please wear your mask when close to others to protect them and yourself.
Safety: Our safety rules prohibit connecting electric plane batteries, or fueling gas and glow planes while in the setup area. Please wait until your plane is in the pits to do so.
Revenue: Our club is the least expensive club in the county to join and we have the most liberal guest policy of any club in San Diego. It costs money to operate and maintain our field and club. If you invite guests to fly, it is YOUR responsibility to ensure their landing fee is paid.
Etiquette: We have a limited number of setup tables and just enough parking space for a vehicle to park in front of each table. Please be courteous and back your car in, aligning it with ONE of the tables, ensuring that all tables are easily accessible by other vehicles.

Please be aware of how your actions affect others and enjoy yourself while at the field!
