Our gym had a great turn out for the Mission Hills 5K Run this past Saturday. Congratulations to our member Luke for winning the $50 bet! Any member who beat our owner at the run was going to win $50!

Lookin good in the swag fellas ✅ 💪

No, these aren’t trainers (though they could easily pass as such) - just some dedicated and motivated clients. Keep up the good work!

✅ Nutrition Tip:

Soak any grains/seeds (rice, beans, lentils, oats, buckwheat, etc.) in water for 24-72 hours prior to consumption.

This helps naturally reduce the presence of anti-nutrients in such foods (i.e., the primary causes for booting and gas).

P.S. you can add an acidic medium like lemon juice or raw apple cider vinegar to help speed up soaking process.

Melatonin is one of the body’s most powerful antioxidant molecules

In fact, recent research has shown it to be more potent than beta-carotene, vitamin E, and vitamin C!

We can increase melatonin levels naturally by avoiding artificial light at night (ALAN)

Lowering core body temperature (especially at night) also has a similar effect on melatonin synthesis

🌞 Get morning sunlight directly to eyes and skin for 10-30 minutes

🌡️ Set thermostat to 65F at night

🌅 Spend the last 30-60 minutes of daylight outside

❄️ Spend at least 12 minutes per week in a cold shower

💊 Magnesium & Glycine supplements

Salt = ELECTROlytes

Each of the cells that make up our body run on electricity ⚡️

That’s why 60-75% of our body is composed of water 💧

However, water by itself is a poor conductor of electricity - this is where salt comes in (water + salt = electricity ⚡️)

ELECTROlytes include:

Calcium
Sodium
Potassium
Magnesium
Chloride

All of which can be found in good SALT 🧂

Good salt includes:

Himalayan pink salt
Celtic Sea Salt

Are you familiar with “Psycho-Cybernetics?”

A term first popularized by Maxwell Maltz in 1960, this concept illustrates the mind as a machine that can be directed toward the achievement of our goals.

“Cybernetics” is a Greek term that loosely translates to “helmsman.”

Come join us in the gym, January 7th @ 9AM, for our “Resolve to Evolve” workshop - where we’ll delve into how to effectively set and achieve our goals for the new year.

RESOLVE our psychological patterns,
EVOLVE towards our healthier, ideal selves.

In essence - we become a greater “helmsman.”

“If one does not know to which port one is sailing, no wind is favorable.” (Lucius Annaeus Seneca)

To make any effective progress, you must first establish for yourself a goal 🎯

With this “port” in mind, we make clear how we are to “navigate the seas.”

That is, how we behave.

Breathe through your nose 👃🏻

Nasal breathing (compared to mouth breathing) increases the release of nitric oxide in the body.

Nitric oxide is a potent vasodilator and aids the immune system to fight infection.

Nasal breathing also makes for improved dentition, both in structure, as well as in the health of the oral microbiome

Unless engaged in intense exercise, you should ALWAYS breathe through your nose 👃🏻
