Huge congratulations to Source Endurance athlete Whitney Allison on her win at the 125-mile Desert Gravel last month! 🏆🚴‍♀️

Whitney’s racing resume is packed with incredible performances across both road and gravel racing. She’s become one of the top gravel racers in the world with multiple elite gravel podiums worldwide.

Coached by Zack Allison, here's more from Whitney on the win: "After a disappointing Sea Otter, it was nice to see these numbers and efforts. Having it result in a win always feels good. This is the last race I'll do ahead of Unbound 200 Women's Elite Race, so it was an important one physically but also mentally."

Way to go, Whitney — excited to see what’s next this season! 👏

At first, cycling is just about having fun. Then it becomes about:

• Making the team
• Earning a contract
• Keeping your spot
• Staying relevant as you age
• Who you are off the bike

As athletes grow, the pressure evolves — but it rarely disappears.

Too often, athletes are taught how to grind through stress, ignore emotions, and “tough it out.” But mental performance and mental health are just as important as physical training.

Talk to one of our coaches if you want help succeeding in cycling, while also protecting who you are off the bike. đź’š

Nutrition Challenges at Unbound Gravel 05/22/2026

Here's a must-read from Coach Kristen about how to avoid bonking on race day at Unbound Gravel!

The takeaways:

• Start fueling early—don’t wait until you’re hungry
• Aim for consistent carbs every hour (not big, infrequent hits)
• Practice your race nutrition in training—nothing new on race day
• Hydration matters just as much as calories (especially in the heat)
• Mix up your fuel sources to avoid flavor fatigue and gut issues
• Stay ahead of the effort—once you’re behind on fueling, it’s hard to come back
• Plan your aid station strategy in advance so there’s no guesswork

Congrats to Source Endurance athlete Juliaan Peraza on winning the Cat 2 Men's race, and placing second in the 1-2 State Champ Road Race at San Luis Rey!

Coached by Adam Mills, here's more from Juliaan, "This accomplishment is meaningful to me because it is a difficult race, not just any race in particular. It is demanding, and not a lot of people like to come out because of how demanding this race is."

Well done Juliaan, way to manage such a tough course like San Luis Rey!
