🤙: 1.5 Day - 18 passengers - 14 1/2 Bluefin (thanks to the shark 🦈), and 1 Yellowtail.
🎣: Landed a few; lost a few. Great opportunity for fish was there, as well as the not so great weather.

🤙: 1.5 Day - 28 passengers - 1 Bluefin, 20 Yellowtail, and 31 Bonito
&
2 Day - 14 passengers - 2 Halibut and a handful of bass.
🎣: Not going to lie, we got our Hali-Butts kicked these last few trips. Fishing wise, weather wise, you name it. 🤷 Sometimes, that’s just how it goes. All we can do is pick ourselves back up, keep up our grind, stay hopeful for a better day on the water, and get back to it.

🤙: 1.5 Day - 27 passengers - 7 Bluefin, 30 Yellowtail, and 31 Bonito.
🎣: This trip, there was a really good sign of bluefin and yellowtail on the bank, we just had a hard time connecting with them, and getting a bite. Every day is different, and brings new challenges, but we are back at it again tonight!
Our next available trip is a 2 Day, departing 8/18, it’s a Limited Load with 8 open spots (out of 22) and it is going for sure. Let’s go fishing!

🤙: 2.5 Day - 24 passengers - 76 Bluefin, and 73 Yellowtail.
🎣: A lot of heartbreak the first day. Fluorocarbon is mandatory if you want to turn your fishing trip into a catching trip. That’s our main tackle tip at this point. Weather is neither good nor bad. It’s either windy and cold, or not windy and hot; and you can experience all of that in a day.
As always, our crew is here for you. We probably want you to land your fish more than you do. If you’re completely new to fishing, or you’re a seasoned angler, don’t be afraid to reach out and ask questions. We are more than happy to help!

🤙: 3.5 Days - 21 passengers - 3 Day Limits of Bluefin(126), and 75 Yellowtail.
🎣: Fish caught were in the 20-60lb range. Fluorocarbon is your best friend right now; the fish were incredibly picky and line shy. Weather was up the first few days, but has come down and looks like it will stay down for a little while.
Our next available trip is a 1.5 Day, departing 8/14, and it is going for sure. See you out there!

The SA80 is on Day 1 of a 2.5 Day, and so far they have 100 Yellowtail and 1 Dorado, and they are still hooked up!

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads out there!
As we depart on a 3 day trip, the SA80 crew want to take a moment to thank our Dads, who love, support, and inspire us, and have shaped us into the people we are today.
On this trip, of the 19 anglers on board, half are father-son duos. So here’s to the fathers who have passed down their love of fishing, their wisdom, and their sense of adventure.

🎣: We saw a lot of decent schools out there, and were able to connect on a few of those schools. However, there was also a lot of heartbreak. Basically, it was bluefin 🤷

Tonight we departed on our first fishing trip for the year. Here’s to a great trip, and an even better fishing season! 🎣

Hey, it’s been a while.

For the last few months, the SA80 and Crew have been busy and away from the dock. However, we haven’t been fishing, and even though we weren’t fishing, fish still came over the rails. Since January, we have been privileged to work with San Diego Floating Lab. We took students of all ages (K-12 and College) from California, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah, on field trips in and just outside of San Diego Bay. For some of these students, it was their first time on a boat. Onboard, the students learned about boat safety, and participated in hands-on and interactive activities and labs that centered around marine biology and oceanography. Additionally, it gave the crew the opportunity to stay active during the off-season, while learning and seeing new things and doing something rewarding.

Last week, we ran our last field trip for the year. We had a lot of fun, but for now we are putting away the microscopes and nets, and pulling out the rods and gaffs. To say we are ready to get out there and fish is an absolute understatement!
