I found an old Polar FT4 heart rate monitor I'm not using anymore (watch and chest strap). It's not bluetooth connectable or data downloadable but it works as a realtime, continuous monitor.

Thought I'd offer it up here first (for free) if anyone was interested. If Michele is okay with it, I can leave it with her for you to pick it up.
