We are incredibly excited to be working with team member, .nishiba …We want to congratulate him for qualifying this Monday at one of San Diego’s gems, Rancho Sante Fe Golf Club, for the U.S. Amateur!
-
We started our work a couple weeks back and made huge strides in our first lesson. Krando worked hard to better connect his backswing by not straightening out his right knee and over-rotating his lower body in the takeaway. This allows Krando to use his body’s turn to move his arms and hands to the top of his swing, as opposed to making a full turn while his arms/hands are only halfway back. This leads to his arms/hands lifting to the top independently of his body’s turn.
-
Lastly, we helped Krando understand how to use his trail arm/elbow better throughout his swing. This kept his arms/hands in front of his body throughout his swing, allowing for his body’s rotation to square the face through impact.
-
One day after a successful 36 hole qualifier, Krando was right back on the lesson tee for a 7PM session…We love to grind, so his work ethic is much appreciated on our end. Here is a look at Krando’s go-to drill(the Set-Go Drill), that is allowing him to accomplish what we talked about above!

Here is the one of the best swings in the game of golf from one of the best players I’ve ever had the privilege of being around. This video was taken of team member, at the Ely Callaway Performance Center in Carlsbad, CA earlier this week as he prepares for making a run at two of amateur golf’s major championships…The Western Amateur and The United States Amateur Championship 🇺🇸
-
Brian finished in the top 10 in stroke play and made it to the quarterfinals in both events last year. Anyone who is familiar with these events knows what a feat this is! We are looking forward to seeing Brian make a run at these two prestigious championships again this year.
-
The Western Am is being played at Exmoor Country Club in Highland Park, Illinois and the U.S. Am 🇺🇸 is being played at The Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, New Jersey. These two events are truly golf at its purest and finest!

Those who follow us know we always set our players on the path to the least amount of manipulation throughout their swings. We thought this clip taken from an online lesson would hit home with many players who are in search of the ideal path through impact as a result of successfully getting in the slot position(The slot: pre-impact position that when correct allows for a clean strike with control of the ball flight)
-
Many players have to try and manipulate their hands or club coming down in an attempt to get into the slot position. If this is the case, you should be looking to better connect your backswing with the ideal hand path and swing plane connected to your body’s turn. There is a direction that the hands should travel relative to your body‘s turn known as the hand path. If connection is maintained and the hand path is correct to the top, it will result in the lead arm matching your shoulder plane. Our players do an awesome job of getting into this ideal top position. As a result, the angles in the downswing are preset and don’t have to be manipulated. Our players can simply rotate around their spine angle and lead leg without trying to force the hands or club into positions in a downswing that happens in only a split second.
-
If you are looking learn more about the ideal position at the top of your swing or the slot please check out our permanent stories under our bio!

This weekend our players are putting in the final prep work for the that takes place next week at various courses around San Diego County! Amongst many of our young stars that will be competing this week is 12-year-old,
-
When our players are getting ready for big tournaments, we like to get them on the golf course to make sure their decision making(shot selection & course management) along with their pre-shot routine are on point. We appreciate that our players like Jaden love to work and prepare themselves to compete! This young man loves to compete which makes it all the more fun as his coach the prep with him!
-
Please enjoy this gorgeous 7-iron from 158 yards. This guy is something else! A big shout out to maintenance crew for the condition of our course! 👏🏻 The Heights GC will be hosting the 11-12 girls this week for Junior World! It’s so nice to see the course provide such a great venue and awesome experience for these young players from all over the world.
-
🇺🇸
We are always working to set our players on the path to the least amount of manipulation throughout their swings! After dialing in the perfect setup, our players work to own, what we call, checkpoint 1(the takeaway) and the set position(halfway back). It’s understood that if we get to these positions with ease the body simply turns the set position to the top connected to the body’s turn! Our players work to do this not changing the structure of their arms or club at all on the way up. This connection, along with having the hands on the ideal path and club on the ideal plane allows for our players to turn and burn from the top free of any thoughts or manipulations coming down!
-
If you are curious and want to take a deeper dive into checkpoint 1 and the set position, please take a look at our permanent stories under our bio! There, you will find a place to reference checkpoint 1 and the set position, along with the other checkpoints we hold our players accountable to at Porzak Golf!

After the U.S. Open this year, I took off to Martha’s Vineyard for a couple days. I rented a Jeep, dropped the top and cruised around the Vineyard blasting some good ol’ country music! The American vibes were hitting me from all angles and then I see the sight pictured in the video above over the sand dunes with one of my favorite songs playing. I immediately pulled the over, stood out the roof and took this moment in!
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I love this country and I am so proud to be an American! Happy July, 4th everyone!

The trail knee is a huge key to building connection from the ground up! Straightening or locking out the trail leg is a very common flaw we see players come to us with. We cringe 😬 when we hear people talk about “extending” the trail leg in an attempt to turn their hips back as much as they can. No athletic move in sports happens with a straightened out trail leg, which is why our crew will stick to loading and exploding!
-
I was lucky enough to have incredible instruction at a young age. My father along with my mentor always preached the importance of maintaining flex in the trail knee. Maintaining flex in the trail knee helps to properly load the lower body and not alleviate ground pressure as it straightens. Keeping the trail knee flexed doesn’t mean that the hips don’t turn. It also doesn’t mean they are restricted from turning. Our players feel like they can turn their trail pockets back as far back as they want. The knee remaining flexed helps slow the hips down in the backswing, gradually building that pressure back into the heel, perfectly sequenced with their arms, hands and upper body to the top of the swing. This is much like pulling a bow and arrow 🏹 back to maximum tension.
-
Take a page from our players’ playbook on this one and you will find some newfound connection built from the ground up! 🏹🎯
-
🇺🇸
If you are curious what a swing requiring the least amount of manipulation looks like, look no further than with a wedge in hand! 🎯
-
Cameron’s connection is impeccable here. Turning his hands on the perfect path relative to his body’s turn along with having one of the most stable club faces in the game makes Cam a deadly wedge player and ball striker!
-
Cam began his professional debut and his journey to the Tour by finishing in the top 15 in his first event…After posting -4 on Friday to make the cut on the number, he dropped another -8 on the weekend to secure a solid finish! Shout out to who is on Cam’s bag. What a team!
-
We have an awesome Canadian 🇨🇦 following who we have a lot of love for. If these events happen to be close to you, get out there and cheer on our boy! He appreciates the support and so do we! He mentioned that the fans and people have been awesome in Canada! 🇨🇦❤️ We love hearing that and can’t wait to get up to an event ourselves here soon!

🇺🇸
If you are having trouble swaying in the backswing and/or sliding through impact, this drill is for you!
-
The Lead Leg Drill is something we’ve had many of our best players regularly do throughout their careers to help them create a more definitive lead side, or as we say, a post to rotate around.
-
Swaying in the backswing doesn’t lead to a big body turn and promotes the arms and hands being over active to get the golf club to the top of the swing. Sliding takes away the body‘s ability to purely rotate through impact and causes the arms and hands to become overactive in an attempt to square the club face through impact.
-
If any of what’s mentioned above hits home with you, give this drill a try!
-
In the setup: Narrow your stance within 6 inches a part, stagger your trail foot just behind your lead one, ball position in line with the big toe of your lead foot.
-
In the swing: 3/4 swings, feeling the lead pocket move around the lead leg to promote pure rotation…Remember, as that lead pocket(lead hip) turns back, your hands should accelerate with the hips in order to remain connected as you execute this drill! We love our players warming up with this drill to start the day with a wedge in hand.
-
🇺🇸
This is an incredibly important lesson for all golfers looking to hit it farther and straighter. Understanding that no matter what is worked on in the backswing, the driving force to the motion will always be the body turning the arms, hands and club to the top of the swing. We can’t emphasize enough how important this is as so many are told to get the golf club into a certain position and do so with solely their arms and hands moving the club into position independent of their body’s turn. This only adds to the disconnection and leads to more problems that the golfer will be forced to manipulate with their hands and body on the way down.
-
Listen closely to this clip from one of our FaceTime sessions. Remember that when making a backswing change or working on your takeaway, set position or top position, please do so with your body‘s turn! Building connection is a huge part of our players’ success and something that every golfer needs more of. Connection leads to the ability to purely rotate through impact. Pure rotation leads to the ability to square the face free of any manipulation through impact with the hands. We want you all striping it 🎯…That being said, please take this tip to heart and we know you will all see the benefits if executed correctly!

What a magical week at The Country Club, in Brookline, Massachusetts! Being able to caddie & compete alongside team member, is something that I will NEVER forget.
-
If you asked us both what our goal was in his first Tour event, let alone the U.S. Open, we both would have said to play the weekend and win low amateur!🏅To accomplish these two things and see Trav put his mark on golf history was incredibly special!
-
This past week included everything I could have hoped for Travis in his development: steady play, dealing with bad breaks and adversity, bouncing back, along with proving he is one of the best players on the planet and can play with anyone! The U.S. Open also has a way of exposing weaknesses and definitely helped us see what we can continue to improve upon.
-
One thing is for sure, the moment was not too big for Travis! He is a true competitor, and amazing ball striker and a true gentleman of the game! Travis leaves this week to represent the United States of America 🇺🇸 in the where the best Americans in college golf take on the best from the rest of the world in Geneva, Switzerland!

What a special day! Father’s Day & U.S. Open Sunday!
-
Those who follow us, know that above all else, we have built the foundation of Porzak Golf and our players’ games around the power of positive thinking!
-
That positivity was built through messages like this that my father, , would leave in the ball and tee compartment in my golf bag for me to read right before I teed it up as a young 15 year old in the PGA Junior Championship. That positivity would also come in the form of positive affirmations like the one pictured above in the top left corner(my favorite all-time pic in my possession) after dad and I won a father and son tournament.
-
His message was always clear and simple…positivity prevails and don’t ever underestimate the power of the mind! This attitude, not just an attitude, but this way of life has given me so much.
-
Father’s Day and Golf will always have a special connection for me. My Dad made Golf special and Golf made our relationship special.
-
Dad, thank you for all you have done and all that you continue to do for me! I couldn’t love you anymore than I do! Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful dads out there!

It’s a pretty special feeling walking down the fairways of The Country Club and preparing for the U.S. Open 🇺🇸 with team member, …We both love everything about this place! The sure knows how to pick ‘em!
-
It was great getting into town early to get a look and feel for the course this weekend before official practice rounds started. This venue is everything you would want a U.S. Open to be! Long, narrow, deep rough, fast greens…The course is a beast and we wouldn’t want it any other way! Plus, it is always special when you play a course with so much history.
-
Travis and I both know it’s an honor and privilege to be here! We are soaking it all up while preparing to the best of our ability! As Travis said walking down one of the fairways, “I’m not missing out on anything this week…I want to see everything!” Me too! I want to see everything except the deep rough that lines the fairways and greens! 😂
-
We appreciate all of you for following along and joining us this week at the U.S. Open! I will continue to do my best to get some awesome content from The Country Club 🇺🇸 that will be posted on our 24 hour stories. We hope you all enjoy videos, like this one above, of Travis hitting his second shot into the beautiful 18th green with the clubhouse in the background!
-
🇺🇸
This is a classic drill that focuses on how the trail arm works in the golf swing! By placing your lead hand behind your trail elbow and applying pressure in towards the center of your body with the back of your lead hand, the trail elbow will remain in front of the side of your body, keeping the hands in front of your body’s center. This also allows for the proper rotation of the trail arm in the backswing that works the club up the ideal plane, much like you’re shaking hands in the takeaway and holding a tray at the top of your swing.
-
The trail arm is often the cause of disconnection and an improper hand path and swing plane in the swing. Give this drill a try and enjoy your newfound connection and improved swing plane!

We are so proud of the way finished up his career …Aman really stepped up this Spring, stringing together a slew of top 10s, which lead to him earning a top 15 finish in the 🙌🏻

Aman earned full status and an exemption into 2nd stage of qualifying! We are so happy his efforts in college paved a path for him to the PGA Tour. Thank you and the for making this possible! 🙏🏻 We are so excited to see this guy compete as a pro! Make sure to follow Aman and track his progress. You know we will be updating you every step of the way!

team member, is an incredible player. Though he didn’t have his a-game at the NCAA Championship , Brian battled and in true Starky fashion, he never gave up! As a result, he still managed a top 15 finish! This is the kind of effort that makes a great living someday on the
-
In the first round of match play, Starky won 2up in his match vs. Texas. He will be a senior next year and will definitely make a run at the top 5! Starky is one of the best ball strikers we have ever seen and is one of the best amateurs in the world. We can’t wait to see Brian tee it up in amateur golf’s biggest events this summer!

There are competitors, and then there is ‘s Mason Anderson! If you like a never give up and fight til the end mentality, then look no further than Mason as your go-to guy to root for as he embarks on his journey to the
-
Mason was as solid as a rock this entire Spring season, and after not playing up to his standards in the stroke play portion of the NCAA Championship, I told everyone that Mason was, undoubtedly, going to be undefeated in match play. How did I come to that conclusion? Simple…He is a mental giant with a lot of heart and one of the best swings on the planet! Scary combination if you are teeing it up against him.
-
Mason‘s first opponent from Oklahoma had to deal with Mason shooting a 65 while shooting 66 themselves. Mason clinched that match with a birdie on the last(the most difficult hole on the course). That same afternoon, he took down one of Pepperdine’s stars after being 2 down with 3 to play. Mason birdied the last three holes, taking the match to extra holes then winning 1 up on the 19th! In the final match, he lead ASU off with a big 3&2 win over one of the University of Texas standouts. 3-0 in match play against the opponents he faced is beyond impressive and validation of the player we know he is!
-
Enjoy this video of Mason warming up prior to his final match vs. Texas. This swing is as simple as it gets! Up and down the same plane, truly on the path to the least amount of manipulation!
-
🇺🇸
What a way to end a special career at Arizona State University for by finishing top 5 in the individual NCAA Championship and helping lead the team to the final match vs. Texas. We ended up learning that Cam needed an 11th place finish or better to secure his top 15, which receives full status on and an exemption to the 2nd stage of qualifying! Cam, being clutch, did what he needed to and even better! It is awesome that his great play in college has paved a more clear path for him to the 🙌🏻 …Bravo to the and for making this a possibility! 👏🏻
-
Not only is Cam an All-American in college golf, but he truly is an all American 🇺🇸 kind of guy! Dedicated to hard work and excellence, along with being one of the best people I know, makes it an absolutely honor to be in his corner! If you are looking for a new young pro to follow and root for, look no further than Cam Sisk!
-
Make sure to follow Cam on IG to keep tabs on his career! You know we will be documenting his journey to the PGA Tour every step of the way! We can’t wait to continue our work and to join him up in Canada 🇨🇦 this summer!

Enjoy this video of Cam’s gorgeous swing taken in the final round of stroke play on the par 3, 16th hole!

What a week for the team! Congratulations to Travis, his teammates, as well as Coach John Fields and Coach Jean-Paul Hebert on winning the 2022 NCAA Championship! 🏆
-
has had a serious run of great golf that included an All-American season, an selection to represent Team USA 🇺🇸, an NCAA Team Championship 🏆, and an appearance in the upcoming U.S. Open at The Country Club! What a list of accomplishments! 👏🏻
-
We want to congratulate Travis on his success and look forward to keeping the pedal down this summer! This video was taken of Travis on the range just prior to his final match. Setup square, maintain connection to the top and let it rip! These were the basics big Trav was dialing in this week to keep it simple and be competitive. 🎯🏆
-
🇺🇸
We always preach a big body turn paired with a short arm swing! This is true connection where the body has simply turned everything to the top, eliminating all excess movement and extra run off with the arms, hands and club isolated from the body’s turn.
-
Let’s forget the arms, hands and club for a second and simply work on that big body turn, that when done correctly, coils the upper body and loads the lower body.
-
The Turn Back Drill uses the ideal setup with the posted up lead leg, braced trail leg and spine angle that promotes the ability to turn behind the ball without swaying and rotate through impact without sliding! Turn up the volume 🔊 and listen to how to execute the drill properly! When done correctly, you should feel the pressure build up in the inner trail heel. You should feel necessary tension, built from the ground up, activate your core and lower body. This is reminiscent to pulling a bow and arrow back to maximum tension at the top of your swing 🏹
-
When thinking of this drill, so many of my awesome students come to mind who have found this drill to be an absolute game changer! We hope you find it helpful as well!
-
🇺🇸
As we are approaching the 2022 NCAA Men’s Championship and what will be the end of some college careers, we want to take a moment to tip our caps and applaud team member,
-
This will be the final college event for Mason. When we think of Mason, the words ‘Rock Solid’ come to mind! A rock solid swing, aided by a rock solid physique, along with a rock solid personality! He has been a constant for his team and a huge part of the Sun Devil’s success! We love this guy and are lucky to be in his corner!
-
We slowed his swing down so you could take it all in! What a gorgeous swing made by a true competitor! Keep an eye on Mason this week …We can’t wait to watch him play!
