I’m always grateful for opportunities to grow and learn! One skill I’m working on is being an entertaining public speaker! I know it is a skill that can be developed, because I have improved greatly over time! In 9th grade I remember I had to give a verbal book report only to my teacher. I remember I was shaking I was so nervous, sweating profusely, couldn’t breathe and my voice shifted like 5 pitches higher than normal. I told my dad about it when I got home and he said ”Alice, I used to suck at it too. But you have to practice to get better.” With public speaking….the only way to do it better consistently…is to do it consistently! I did improv classes at Second City, I took public speaking classes and I seek out opportunities where I can utilize this skill that I have developed! I have spoken in front of tons of audiences now and started getting paid to speak and entertain! Do I still get nervous? Yes. But I am so grateful to have grown so much, and am excited to continue to work on my skills!

Student success story!!! I recently got a student that was brand new student to yoga. I cherish welcoming new Yogis to the practice because it is so powerful! Since welcoming him to the practice after the first month he has noticed the following benefits that he reported to me: he feels calmer and more energized throughout the day, he enjoyed learning about breath work and meditation and he said his knee pain diminished!
I believe that yoga is such a gift and can benefit every single person! ****but not all yoga is the same!*** Some enjoy a fast paced sweaty class where you may end up balancing on your hands with your feet it the air! But this is not all yoga. There are other types that will help you relax before bed! Check out:

Yoga can be as simple as taking a round of breath or as in-depth as a month long retreat.
