Congratulations to Cielo on earning her first stripe on her white belt.

Cielo is a young matriarch on the mat bringing attitude, grit, swagger, and power every time she steps out there. She earned second place at the Super Copa in a tough match, and (bias decision) regardless of the outcome, she carried herself with dignity, head high, medal accepted and showed up the very next day ready to train harder.

Outside the academy, Cielo is an excellent soccer player, part of a top program in San Diego coached by her dad. She’s also a strong student and someone who stands up for others, helping protect kids from being bullied.

Congratulations Ahmed on earning your first stripe on your white belt. In just eight months of training alongside your three brothers you’ve already made a strong impression.

Ahmed is quiet, but never timid. He proved that by taking first place at the Super Copa, and I couldn’t be more proud of him. Beyond his skill on the mats, he’s an exceptionally bright young man. He speaks four languages and sets a powerful example as a mentor to his brothers.

Congratulations to Abasai on earning his 1st degree on his white belt.

Seven months of hard work and the transformation from the kid who first walked through our doors to the young martial artist he is today has been incredible to witness.

At Neto Jiu-Jitsu, we show love by holding a high standard. There is no mediocrity here. We strive for excellence. If something is substandard, we address it because growth requires honesty, discipline, and accountability.

As we always say: it’s blood, sweat, and tears… with the occasional smile like today.
