Your body follows what your mind believes.
And your mindset isn’t some magical thing you either “have” or don’t have.
It’s a choice.
You can choose discouragement.
Or you can choose courage.
A long time ago I learned something that changed my life:
Your body doesn’t actually know the difference between fear, anxiety, nervousness, or excitement.
Physiologically… it’s incredibly similar.
So the story you attach to the feeling matters.
You can tell yourself:
“I’m overwhelmed.”
Or:
“I’m growing.”
You can tell yourself:
“I can’t handle this.”
Or:
“This is uncomfortable… but I can do hard things.”
What you focus on changes your experience.
Your eyes shape your thoughts.
Your thoughts shape your actions.
And your body follows those cues.
That’s why mindset matters so much.
Not because positive thinking magically changes your life…
But because your attention changes your behavior.
And behavior changes everything.

I help active women over 30 get strong, confident & energetic to play their favorite sports without pain.
You keep trying to restart routines you don’t actually enjoy living.
Too restrictive.
Too extreme.
Too time consuming.
So eventually…
you escape them.
And then blame yourself for “falling off.”
But if your routine only works when life is perfect…
it was never sustainable to begin with.
The goal isn’t to suffer your way into results.
It’s to build a lifestyle you can actually stay consistent with.
to have it truly become a part of a life that you enjoy living.
That’s the difference.
At some point…
this stops being about motivation.
And starts becoming part of your identity.
You stop forcing workouts.
You stop negotiating every decision.
You stop “starting over” every Monday.
Because the habits become normal.
That’s the real goal.
Not perfection.
Not extremes.
Becoming someone whose lifestyle supports the life they want.
That’s when everything starts to change.
More women need to experience what strength training actually does to them.
Not just physically.
Mentally.
Emotionally.
The confidence.
The energy.
The resilience.
The self-respect.
The way you start trusting yourself more because you keep showing up.
At some point it stops being about workouts.
And starts becoming part of who you are.
That changes everything.
If you’re always hungry when trying to lose weight…
it’s not because you lack discipline.
It’s because your day isn’t set up to support you.
Skipping meals.
Low protein.
Trying to “be good” later.
That combination makes everything harder than it needs to be.
When your meals are structured properly…
fat loss stops feeling like a fight.
Hot take:
You don’t keep rebounding because diets don’t work.
You keep rebounding because you don’t stay in it long enough.
The scale doesn’t move.
Or it goes up.
Or nothing happens for days.
So you assume it’s not working.
But the scale is a lagging indicator.
Your body is changing before you ever see it.
And most people quit right there.
That’s the difference.
Not a better diet.
Not more restriction.
The ability to stay in it when it’s not immediately rewarding.
If you can do that… everything changes.
Stop looking for the next diet.
Start building the discipline to outlast the scale.
Your body is amazing.
If you have a good lift and miss a week or 2 you can go back to that same lift and feel stronger! It’s all about getting that quality in. Quantity is relative.
This is especially true with legs day. I recommend a good legs day each week but if you even did 2 per month you’d see gains and make progress.
Today I played around with adding some rotation into my barbell reverse lunges. Unsurprisingly fly it was a game changer! 🔥
I easily put another 10 # on from my last reverse lunge day and I felt more connected athletic and explosive. 🤔 has changed my life and made me the strongest and most athletic I’ve ever been.
If you’re feeling stiff or just less athletic these days this may be just what you need. But be smart about entering into that rotational strength training. Let me know if you have any questions or what you’re working rotational into with your workouts these days! 🙌🔥
Mondays medicine was 8x3 speed bench and 8x3ea split cleans.
