I finally got to meet the Florida manatees over the weekend. These adorable potato mermaids swim into the shallow springs on cold days to warm up. Braving the 36 degree temps outside to swim and play with these friendly creatures was well worth it!

Aqua hunters is officially my favorite dive boat in South Florida. As fun as it is meeting a huge group of new divers on the larger boats, being underwater with 20-30 divers scaring the fish, kicking up the silt and getting in the way isn’t very great. Aqua hunters only has room for 6 divers. They took us to spots less traveled where the reef was pristine, the sea life was abundant, the Bull sharks were huge and got close and we limited out on lobster. If you’re looking for who to hunt with in South Florida on tanks, this is your boat!

I’ve never seen a slipper lobster in the wild. With claws that look like pointy witch fingers and purple antennas that moved like two flicking tongues, I was afraid to grab it out of the huge barrel coral it was nesting in.

Porcupine fish are so cute!! This one came out to peek at me.
It’s moon jellyfish season in South Florida. With water temps being so warm, I haven’t seen many sharks. On some dives there’s nothing to see but these mesmerizing jellyfish.
