Here are 5 tips that will help your workouts be more effective. 🔥
1. Start with exercises that use the most muscle first. This is the most effective way to lift because you're working the biggest muscles when you have the most energy. This will produce the most gains, the science part of it is primary compound exercises, secondary complimentary muscles, tertiary support muscles/antagonist muscle groups. 💪🏼
2. Always do a warmup set first with lighter weight and higher reps first. Sure, it warms up the muscles, but more importantly it warms up your central nervous system and prepares your mind to connect with your body. This ensures better movement control and makes you connect and "feel" the lift more. This leads to greater muscle activation and therefore a more effective lift, better/quicker results. 🔥
3. Focus on mobility first. This warms the muscles/central nervous system up/primes your body for movement. But most importantly, it allows for a greater range of motion which will make your lifts more effective, again meaning bigger gains/quicker results. ⚡️
4. Focus on control and form. Sure, you've heard this one before, but why do people still not do it! This is really where gains are made. You have to have the movement pattern grooved in so when you so when you start putting up weight, you have great technique to prevent injury and make the most progress. 💯
5. If you're burnt out, take a "Deload day/week." This is an exercise principle in which you continue to lift, but reduce the amount of weight, reps, or sets, or a combination of all three in order to let your body fully recover. This is super important and will actually help you make huge gains in strength and physique change. Think of it like an elastic band, you rest and filly recover and then your body slingshots forward because it's integrating all of the previous strength gains at 100%. 🤙🏼
