The defending champions from the Bay Area are still without All-Stars Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins. But the other Warriors have stepped it up in their absences, especially Klay Thompson the legend.

Meanwhile, the Clippers have a three-headed monster in Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Russell Westbrook. Those are three hoopers who have stuffed stat sheets for years and on paper they’re a tough matchup for anybody.

Don’t look now but the Golden State Warriors are beginning to find their groove as they ride a three-game winning streak while currently placing fifth in the Western Conference standings. Just when it looked like the team was in jeopardy of getting blown out last night against the Portland Trail Blazers, the Warriors put on a vintage third quarter performance to pull off the comeback victory, 123-105. Head coach Steve Kerr was proud of Golden State’s effort on Tuesday night and praised the team for their grit and toughness.

The Golden State Warriors have been trudging along this season, one game above .500 with a record of 31-30. And to hear many pundits say it, it’s been an embarrassing season to say the least so far for the reigning, defending champions.

And yet they’re still squarely in the thick of the playoff chase out in the wild, wild, West. Currently they are in the 7th seed, four spots ahead of their opponent Tuesday night. Yep, that’s right folks, the Portland Trail Blazers are the 11th seed...but only 1.5 games behind the Dubs.
