This isn't about the contract it's about interest. If a team wants him badly enough, they'll send a late-round pick and get him into camp immediately. If nobody bites, they'll wait until the 49ers make their final cuts.
At the end of the day, no team is taking on that contract unless they see real value in the player.

Brock Purdy has been proving doubters wrong ever since he took over as the 49ers' QB1. Despite being the last pick in the draft, he's consistently delivered wins, efficient production, and deep playoff runs. Love him or hate him, the results speak for themselves Purdy has been balling from day one and continues to show he belongs among the NFL's top quarterbacks.

If the Raiders really got Brandon Aiyuk for just a 2027 fifth-round pick, that's incredible value. A healthy Aiyuk is a proven playmaker and worth much more than that.

He’s far better than is giving him credit for. Not every quarterback is going to be Mahomes, Allen, or prime Brady and that's okay. Those are generational talents. You can still be a very good quarterback without being one of the greatest to ever play.

Nick Bosa looks to be right on track, Jacob Cowing continues to impress, and the competition at both running back and left guard is heating up. With every OTA session, the battle for roster spots becomes more intense as the 49ers prepare for the 2026 season.

If he can stay healthy, he could provide the game breaking speed this offense has lacked for years. With the 49ers likely keeping just five or six wide receivers, the competition between Jacob Cowing, Jordan Watkins, and Demarcus Robinson for the final roster spots will be one to watch.
