On this day of honoring our teachers, I offer deep gratitude to the gurus who have guided my Kathak journey. I am forever a student, forever grateful. 🙏
Namaskar! My name is Anshu Manchanda and I strive to provide high quality Kathak education to students of all ages in a nurturing and supportive environment.
I feel blessed to be able to share my love of Kathak dance and to promote Kathak as a lifelong practice for physical and spiritual upliftment. I am committed to passing on the formidable legacy of the late Guru Pandit Chitresh Das and other esteemed teachers who continue to guide me in my own learning journey. At present, I am receiving training from Guru Saswati Sen, foremost disciple of the late Guru Pandit Birju Maharaj. Classes are offered in Fremont and San Ramon.

Krishnamohi – 3 months ago! We danced, we laughed, we lifted each other up. We were rhythm and grace, giggles and joy, love and sisterhood. A day to cherish, a bond forever. ❤️

Immerse yourself in the divine and playful essence of Krishna through the graceful and expressive art of Kathak, one of the classical dance forms of India, also known as Natwari Nritya — the dance of Lord Krishna. Krishnamohi showcases both the pure dance and rich storytelling traditions of Kathak. Join us for an evening where rhythmic footwork, soulful expressions, and captivating music bring the spirit of Krishna to life.

Congratulations to Nrityāmi’s very first ISTD certificate awardees!
Deeksha Srihary, Jeeva Achar, and Tvisha Arora appeared for the ISTD Grade 1 Kathak exam last Sunday and achieved wonderful results. This being my very first experience with a Kathak exam—neither I nor my students had ever taken one before—it means a lot that these girls and their families trusted me with their exam journey.
ISTD is a regulated awarding organization, ensuring that standards are met for curriculum, exams, and assessments, thereby allowing students and teachers to trust in the quality and value of its certifications. ISTD’s Classical Indian Dance faculty was established in 1999, adding to its prestigious history in dance education.
Onwards and upwards! I can't wait to guide these talented girls through the next level of their exam journey and to work with the next batch of Grade 1 candidates.
But first—full steam ahead as we prepare for our November show, Krishnamohi!

SAVE THE DATE!! Mark your calendars for this very special event. We are so excited to bring you Krishnamohi—a celebration of the divine and playful essence of Krishna through the graceful and expressive art of Kathak.
