Nicole’s background in movement didn’t start until her adult years, when she started taking on bowls and half pipes on her roller skates at skate parks. She’s since ventured into yoga, weightlifting, and now, aerial arts.
Her favorite part of doing aerial is the moment when things click after months of training, and she finally lands a skill that once felt completely impossible.
Nicole was motivated to join the performance workshop when she realized her previous performance experiences of piano recitals and a staged reading of “Chicken Run” didn’t translate into creating an aerial act, despite all her hard work training. After 8 weeks in the workshop, she’s ready to mesmerize you with her lyra artistry.
Come witness Nicole’s aerial transformation at The Hive SF’s Student Showcase on November 23.

Growing up in Belgium, Erika was a rhythmic gymnast and practiced ballet and some contemporary and breakdance. She moved to the US about 6 years ago and has been living in San Francisco for the last 3. Despite her fear of heights, aerial has become one of her favorite activities.
She loves the challenge of learning so many new aerial skills and tricks, while still being able to use her gymnastics background. When she’s not in the air, you can find her in boots and a hardhat at her construction management job.
Get ready to be capitvated by Erika at The Hive SF’s Student Showcase on November 23.

Shell is a Bay Area native living in San Francisco and has chosen to create a movement-based lifestyle in resistance to the sedentary standards of our current society.
As a Pilates teacher, personal trainer, dancer and aerialist, her work and artistry are intertwined and deeply connected to her sense of self. Shell has also been navigating a journey of healing various chronic pains that started in her teens, and her current lifestyle is a product of that journey.
She loves the process of creating an act and experiencing personal growth throughout the process. The moment of surrender and presence on stage is unlike anything else and is something she looks forward to every time.
Join us for Shell’s spellbinding act at The Hive SF’s Student Showcase on November 23.

Stefi grew up in the countryside of the Netherlands and lived in Hong Kong and Chicago before moving to San Francisco about 3.5 years ago.
Since her move, she’s fully immersed herself in the circus community. Growing up, she always practiced some form of dance combined with martial arts: from ballet and karate to bachata and kickboxing. She’s bounced between hobbies for years, but aerial hoop is the one that’s really stuck.
She finds it to be the perfect mix of strength, creativity, a little drama… and, as an added bonus, provides her a lifelong supply of bruises.
Don’t miss Stefi’s enchanting performance at The Hive SF’s Student Showcase on November 23.

Emily grew up in New Jersey and moved to the Bay Area five years ago to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology. When she was younger, she was all about sports, mostly playing basketball and tennis. She found aerial at age 18 and picked it up again recently after 9 years.
Her favorite aspects of aerial include the ability to strive for and achieve milestones over time, with consistent dedication and effort. She also loves the tight-knit community and the opportunity of being mentored by coaches she deeply admires. Aside from aerial, Emily’s obsessions include her chihuahuas and reading.
Get ready to be dazzled by Emily at The Hive SF’s Student Showcase on Sunday, November 23.
