You do not need to be fit or flexible enough to join us.

We meet you where you are and find the right amount of challenge to help you grow.

When people see our retreat photos, they often notice the physicality first. Yes, we build strength, increase mobility and explore what our bodies are capable of.

But Loose, Fit & Happy is about expanding our definition of health beyond the fitness of working out and the flexibility of yoga.

True health is ultimately measured by the quality of our friendships, the depth of our conversations and our sense of belonging.

As Adam Chaimberg shares, he came to our Quebec retreat for himself. What surprised him was finding people who shared his interest in health, well-being, emotional intelligence and just the right amount of spirituality.

He left with friends he will have for life.

At Blissology, ✨connection is our currency.✨

We strengthen our muscles, stretch our bodies and expand our social circles. We grow not only as individuals, but through the bonds we create with one another.

The next Loose, Fit & Happy retreat is in Bali, March 27 to April 1, 2027.

Early-bird pricing ends September 30.

Come exactly as you are. Leave stronger, more open and deeply connected.

I tried my first human flag at 54, and I sucked at it.
I didn’t hold one until I was 56. Now, at 57, they’re finally starting to come easily.

We are taught that our strength and skills must decline as we age. I’m telling you it can be different.

Yes, it takes work. But you also need to understand how your body works, how to distribute forces so loads are dispersed rather than concentrated in your joints.

I first learned these principles while rehabilitating a devastating knee injury 26 years ago. I didn’t just heal. Over time, they helped me do things I never imagined possible

These principles became DUO in Yoga Optimized.
I’ve learned you can teach an old dog new tricks. Maybe we don’t stop learning because we get old. Maybe we get old because we stop learning.

My goal is to help you expand your Movement Span, so you never feel you have to say: “I’m too old for this sh*t.”

What will you challenge yourself to learn today?

Believe it’s possible.

Do you feel it? We do our yoga. We do our workouts. We even try meditation. We try to take care of ourselves.

And yet so many of us feel increasingly disconnected from our bodies, from our minds, from each other, and from the living world we belong to. We live in an era riddled with anxiety, while so many of us feel helpless in the face of what’s happening to our planet.

What if our practice could also reconnect us to nature?

That question has guided me for most of my life.

Even as a boy, something in me changed when I got quiet outside. I felt more peaceful, more connected, more alive. It’s what eventually led me to yoga and a question I’ve spent decades exploring: “What happens to us physically, emotionally, and spiritually when we get out into nature?”

That exploration became Yogic by Nature: Making Nature Our Temple, a new book and immersion that I’m excited to share.

🌿 In the spirit of Karma Yoga, the yoga of service, and following our dharma, our life’s calling, I want to give you the first 30 pages of the book completely free.

Enjoy it, and if these ideas call you deeper, I’d love to see you in San Mateo, California, or online from your living room, February 25–28, 2027.

✨Comment NATURE, and I’ll send you the first 30 pages as my gift.

Philosophy · Yoga · Meditation · Nature · Friendship

Open to everyone. No experience needed.
Register by September 30 and save $100.

The more we blur the line between where we end and nature begins, the happier we will be.

One of the greatest antidepressants I’ve ever found was transplanting coral.

In 2014, I was tired of sitting in cafés talking about how people and governments didn’t care enough about the environment.

I wanted to do something. So I asked a question:

What if a yoga retreat didn’t just celebrate the beauty of nature, but actually gave something back?

That became EcoKarma.

We launched our first EcoKarma project in Florida in 2014. Since then, our community has helped transplant coral across 2 square kilometers of reef.

Why coral? Coral reefs cover less than 1% of the ocean floor, yet support about 25% of marine life. And they are under enormous pressure from warming oceans, bleaching, acidification, pollution and disease.

I didn’t want our retreats to be about talking about our connection to nature, then heading off to the spa for a massage.

I wanted us to roll up our sleeves and put our yoga into action.

Karma Yoga is about finding our highest self in service to others. 🐋EcoKarma is about finding our highest self in service to nature.

A side benefit was this: Instead of sitting around feeling powerless about what was happening to our planet, I found myself surrounded by 30–40 people who cared enough to actually do something to give back to the planet.

And that gave me something precious: HOPE.

We continued these projects every year until the pandemic made them impossible. We haven’t run an EcoKarma coral project since 2020.

But that is about to change. 💙

✨At Loose, Fit & Happy Bali, March 27–April 1, 2027, EcoKarma is coming back.✨

Loose, Fit & Happy Retreats are about yoga, movement and becoming fitter, stronger and more alive.

But fitness can’t only be about our own bodies. It has to include the health of the planet that sustains us.

So during our six days together in Bali SOULSHINE RESORT & RETREATS , we’ll take our practice beyond the yoga mat and back into the ocean, helping transplant precious coral so these ecosystems can thrive for future generations.

Yoga. Fitness. Friendship. Ocean. Service.

Because yoga isn’t just about realizing that everything is connected.

It’s about living like it is.

Ever feel like your mind is a hamster on a wheel?

Running toward what it wants. Raga.
Running away from what it doesn’t want. Dvesha.
Faster and faster, going nowhere.

I drew that first slide by hand. The yogis described this thousands of years ago, and I could see it so clearly in myself that I had to put it on paper.

So what happens when we step off the wheel?

For me, that’s where yoga gets really interesting.

And I don’t just want to be present. I want to feel that presence outside, in the beauty of the living world. 🌿

That’s the heart of my new book, Yogic by Nature, and the drawings in this post come from it.

TONIGHT • 6:30 PM PT • FREE

I’m teaching 11 essential concepts that make yoga philosophy make sense in about 15 minutes.

Then we’ll take those ideas out of our heads and into our bodies with a Vinyasa flow, and close with meditation.

If you’re in the San Francisco Bay Area, come practice with me LIVE tonight at Nandi Yoga in San Mateo.

Or join us online from anywhere.

Can’t make it live? Register anyway.

You’ll get:

🌿 The replay
🌿 The first 21 pages of Yogic by Nature as my gift to you

Do you believe happiness is best when shared?

Most of us come to yoga to feel better in our own bodies, and that’s where we start: the biomechanics, the breath, how movement actually works, learning to feel each pose from the inside instead of forcing a shape.

You start to understand your own body at a depth most of us have never been taught.

But something happens once you have these tools. A quiet voice rises up and asks: how do I share this?

And here’s the beautiful part. Sharing your flame doesn’t dim it. It lights the flame in countless other hearts.

That’s what this training is. Not memorizing poses to lead a class, but becoming a somatic movement educator. Someone who can help others come home to themselves, and discover what you want to give back.

October 4 to 16, in Victoria Quantum Yoga & Pilates . Just enough city, surrounded by nature. I’ve already spoken personally with many of the people coming, and it’s shaping up to be a special group.

Come be part of it.

Early bird ends soon.

Unlike most tutorials, I don’t want to tell you what to do first. I want to tell you WHY.

The whole point of the sissy squat is mind-muscle control, especially through the feet and quads.

Want my full Muscles That Move: Leg Day practice? DM me LEGS and I’ll send you the link.

Strong, intelligent feet can contribute to healthier knees and lower backs. And the eccentric work in your quads helps you develop what I call “muscles that move”: strength that builds mobility.

The key is that mobility and flexibility are different.

In our Superflow course, I describe mobility as “stretching with the engine on.” Your muscles are getting longer, but they’re still receiving a neurological signal to contract. You’re building strength and control at longer muscle lengths.

But if you can’t control the movement, you’re not ready for more depth.

Control over depth. Always.

Now the physics.

Your BASE OF SUPPORT is under your forefoot and toes. As your knees travel forward, more of your body weight moves in front of that base. To COUNTERBALANCE, your shoulders move back.

✨ Think: Strong toes. Knees forward. Shoulders back. Abs on. Quads strong. ✨

One mistake I see a lot of yogis make is turning this into a backbend.

It’s not.

Keep your abdominals engaged and your torso controlled. The movement comes primarily from increasing KNEE FLEXION, not spinal extension.

Start on your tiptoes. Let your knees travel forward as your body leans back to counterbalance. Only go as deep as you can completely control.

Need support? Use a TRX, chair, or anything stable.

✨ Control first. Depth second. ✨

That’s how we build muscles that move.

Want the detailed step-by-step tutorial? I put the full breakdown on the Blissology blog.

And if you want to practice with me, my new 40-minute Muscles That Move: Leg Day blends yoga, mobility, and calisthenics to build strength that builds mobility.

DM me LEGS and I’ll send you both links.
