The Healthy Dancers’ Clinic (HDC) is an education-based clinic, staffed by volunteer healthcare practitioners.

We are a volunteer group of physicians, physical therapists, mental health specialists, nutritionists, students and other health care providers, devoted to improving the overall health and wellbeing of dancers. Our main objectives are to provide guidance and advise dancers/performance artists on injury management, recovery and longevity.

We're 80% to our fundraising goal for the Healthy Dancers Clinic!

Since its founding in 2005, the HDC has served thousands of community members with workshops, one-on-one diagnostic sessions, musculoskeletal screening, nutrition counseling, integration of health services, facilitated panel discussions, and more.

The Clinic's services are offered at no cost and we rely on the generosity of our volunteers and donations to support our ongoing programs.

Help us raise $590 by April 30 (link in profile).

Meet Tammy Chang, an Oakland based holistic nutrition coach and ODC Healthy Dancers’ Clinic volunteer. Since 2012, she has been working with clients individually on holistic nutrition, holistic cooking, and digestion.

In her piece, "Eating for Recovery," Tammy says “As a dancer, when I found out that my ACL had ruptured I felt as if my world was ending! However, with patience and restorative practices, including working on nutrition to help heal and recover, I’m a smarter dancer.”
