✨ Return to Forever’s Accessibility Services ✨

For blind and visually impaired audience members, Zaccho Dance Theater partners with Gravity Access Services to offer live audio description and a haptic access tour for both performances on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

Audio description is a live audio track spoken by a professional audio describer to audience members with visual impairments through a wireless headset system.

It provides clear and engaging descriptions of the meaningful visual details of a performance.

Haptic access tours (20-30 minutes) are a live pre-show tour that allows patrons to experience — through touch and their own movement — the space, performers, costumes and objects in addition to key movement elements in the performance.

✨Artistic Director Joanna Haigood is back in the studio, where she returns to ground, to center, to joy.

Zaccho’s new work in progress, Return to Forever began with a rediscovery: a handwritten song log from her teenage years as a radio DJ in Vermont.

(Did you know she was once a DJ?!)

Each title is a memory. Each memory, a doorway.
A reminder that the past doesn’t just live behind us, it shapes how we move now, and who we become next.

The title inspired by Chick Corea’s Return to Forever, this piece revisits the music that sparked Joanna’s early creative life, while reconstructing decades of work made right here at Zaccho Studio.

🌸Return to Forever, A Work in Progress 🌸

Inspired by Chick Corea’s band and a playlist from 1975, Return to Forever is both a return and a reimagining - a callback to the music that shaped Artistic Director Joanna Haigood’s early creative life, and a reconstructed memory of decades of work created at our beloved Zaccho Studio.

RTF features performances by amara tabor-smith, B Dean, Clarissa Rivera Dyas, Eli Shi, Saharla Vetsch, Veronica Blair, and William Brewton Fowler Jr., artists whose collective work lives at the intersection of movement, spirit, community, and transformation.

Come witness a series of solos and duets that engages memory to honor history, acknowledge the present, and create what is to come.
