In Aug 2021 700K gal of water flooded Stern Grove due to a broken water main. The existing horseshoes courts were demolished. We thought they were gone forever, but it appears they have been rebuilt!

Sad news. I just got word that Christopher Michael Benson died in an auto accident. That's a big loss. Chris was in the Santa Rosa Club and came to a lot of our SF tournaments. I often found myself in the same group pitching against him and he was always tough to beat. He'd always yell MIYAGI!! when his shoe was in the air on the way to a 6-pak. No idea what it meant, but I got tired of hearing it while playing against him because I knew he was throwing another double. He was fun to pitch with, a total character and always helpful. This sucks...I'm still in shock. I was kind of expecting to see him at our tournament last Saturday. The first time I met him was at a Nor Cal Championship several years ago. He told me he was just a "beginner" and had a low average...and then doubled it against me laughing the whole time. He'll be missed. -Peter Z.
13 pitchers yesterday. Two handicapped groups. Group A with 6 and Group B with 7. We had two new SF Club members join and pitch in the tournament. Rick Della Santina was the tournament champion, with Richard Robbins coming in 2nd. Roy Douglas won Group B with Thomas Larson in 2nd.
