When I first started coaching at CCSF in 1992 there were a box of wooden plaques of school record holders for various events from the 1960’s. One had the name of Dwight Tucker, a 51’ triple jumper in 1966.
About a year ago, I ran into Dwight at Lake Merritt and I kind of remembered his name on one of the plaques. I told him about this but since I retired at the end of 2020, I wasn’t sure if the box was still around. Kudos to former Cross Country and Track Coach, Adam Lucarelli for locating the plaque.
Took me until today to see Dwight again, but finally presented the plaque to Mr. Dwight Tucker, jumper extraordinaire, (and brother of SF distance legend Ben Tucker).
Job well done! Thank you for setting a standard of excellence for CCSF Track and Field.
Go Rams!

Congrats to some former Rams on a great 2023 season, having a huge impact coaching High School Track in California. Monina Buchongo at El Cerrito had a 10.31 and third place finish in the boys 100, Myles Holmes had a freshmen at St. Ignatius take second in the girls 100 in 11.52 and a getting on the podium with a 19’7” long jump, Sean Gwi had his boy at Harker HS in the final of both the 100 & 200 with season bests of 21.31 and 10.50 I believe, and Nic Torres had a NCS section champ in the 300h for Stuart Hall, Paul Castle at Clayton Valley, Shannon Lowe at Wash, and Cyntia Salazar at Lick Wilmerding all repping athletes at CIF! Go Rams!

One of the most popular Sports Illustrated issues was the annual, ”Where Are They Now” issue. Tell us what years you competed, your events and marks, what you did after competing at CCSF, and what you are doing now. Inquiring minds want to know. 🤔 👊

Sad news to report but the college has dropped the Cross Country and Track programs for both men and women. Thank you to all our former athletes for adding to our GREAT history!

A big thank you to this guy. Thank you for a great first season. As the semester ebbs & flows through the challenges of living and working together, we always were able to communicate and be positive towards each other with the end goal of having fun. I appreciate you professionally and as a dear friend.
