Premier Racquet Shop serving the Bay Area I am Bryan Chung, and I am proud to be the new owner of City Racquet Shop!

While I may be a new face at the shop, I am not at all new to our favorite sport. I've been playing for nearly a decade and a half, including having the good fortune to participate in some international tournaments. I'm also a tennis instructor who has been volunteering with the Gay & Le***an Tennis Federation. I've also been restringing rackets for over 12 years, so you can rest assured that Marla and Sheila chose well when they turned the shop over to me!

If you want your racquets strung for the weekend of June 5-7 05/31/2026

Hello City Racquet Shoppers!
I hope you are ready for the summer and for those vacation times!

As we approach the busy summer season, I wanted to take a moment to thank all of our loyal customers for their continued support of City Racquet Shop. It is 12:15am May 31, I am at the shop right now as I'm currently working on 54 customer racquets in the queue, and it's your trust in our services that keeps us thriving. If you’re hoping to have your racquets ready for the weekend of June 5-7, please bring them in as soon as possible to ensure you have them in time.

A quick heads up: both Dan and I will be away from June 5-8. While Ari will be in the shop to assist with any needs, please note that we will have limited stringing options during this period. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to get your racquets in early so that we can serve you best.

Thank you again for choosing City Racquet Shop for all your tennis needs!

Best, Bryan

The Play Tennis Challenge β†’ win a free racquet, find your tennis crew, play for 12 weeks 🎾

We run a new cohort every month. Here's how to get in:
β†’ Step 1: Join our free Tennis Den community (link in bio).
β†’ Step 2: Be active in there β€” post a win, comment on someone else's, get to Level 2.
β†’ Step 3: Show up to the next enrollment Zoom (announced inside Tennis Den 1-2 weeks before each cohort kicks off).

That's it. Free to join Tennis Den. Free racquet if you finish the challenge. The community is the actual prize, if you ask us, but the tennis racket is pretty cool too.

See you in Tennis Den.

This is what 12 weeks of showing up looks like 🎾

Our April + May Play Tennis Challenge cohorts have been unreal. Beginners. Returning players. People who hadn't picked up a racquet in years.

June enrollment is open. Step 1 = join our free Tennis Den community. Link in bio.
Come build this with us.

June enrollment is open and the way in just changed πŸ†

Quick rundown β€” the Play Tennis Challenge is 12 weeks of playing tennis, posting about it, meeting other SF tennis people, and (if you finish) winning a free $300 racquet on us.

The deal: post 1 tennis reel a week tagging for 12 weeks. That's the whole commitment.

Here's what's new for June:
Step 1 β†’ Join our free Tennis Den community on Skool. Link in bio.
Step 2 β†’ Be active in there. Post a win, comment on someone else's, hit Level 2 on the leaderboard
Step 3 β†’ Show up to enrollment Zoom with Bryan.
Fri May 29, 6–7pm PT
Sat May 30, 9–10am PT

Same info both days. Pick what works.

Why the new way? Past cohorts taught us that the people who get the most out of this are the ones who actually want a community. Free racquets are great. The crew is greater.

Link in bio. Come hang. 🎾

A good slice is really about feel, control, and staying relaxed through contact. Once you start understanding how the ball reacts off the racquet, everything becomes way easier to adjust.

It’s one of the most underrated shots in tennis when you know how to use it properly πŸ‘Š

SAVE this for your next practice session! 🎾

A lot of players try to generate power with just their arm…

But loading into your back leg properly changes EVERYTHING 🎾

You’ll feel more balance, better weight transfer, and way more stability through contact instead of feeling rushed on the ball.

Sometimes the simplest drills are the ones that make the biggest difference long term πŸ‘Š

SAVE this & try it during your next practice session!

If racquets had sound effects… this is probably what they’d sound like πŸ˜‚πŸŽΎ
