Stop, drop, and plank! Do you enjoy planks?
Some helpful tips:
*Engage abdominals by drawing navel to spine and hugging the ribs in
*Lengthen the heart slightly forward and guide shoulders back
*Keep neck neutral by gently reaching through the crown of the head
*Lengthen your tailbone back towards your heels
*Engage quadriceps and reach through your heels
*Can be done on hands or forearms

Down dog is practiced in nearly every yoga class. It helps transition from one pose to the next. It can be a warm up, it can be a place to come home to. It’s even been called a resting pose (um, whaaaat?)
Here are some alignment tips to ease into down dog:
*Spread your fingers wide with hands at least shoulder width apart. Press into your finger pads and knuckles.
*Push the floor away from you.
*Draw your ribs and belly in. Reach your sits bones up and back.
*Bring your feet hips width apart or wider.
You can bend your knees - heels do not need to touch the ground!
*Gaze at the space between your big toes and breathe.
