A big congratulations U24 for their incredible work in Germany at the world championships!!! To our Northwind U24 representing team USA- Yall have put so much training and it’s been incredible to watch you all compete at such an intense level. We are honored to call you our teammates 🫡

Q: What was the hardest part about training/tryouts?
A: “Learning to paddle OC1 with a DB blade and dealing with the uncertainties”

Q: What did you learn during training/tryouts that surprised you?
A: “I learned that I am more capable than I give myself credit for and that things do work itself out when you invest enough time and energy”

Q: Favorite workout?
A: “rest days”

Q: What are you excited to eat in Germany?
A: “Beer” 🍻

Q: Any tips or words of wisdom for those hoping to make premier in the future?
A: “Just send it”🚀

Q: What was the hardest part about training/tryouts?
A: “Navigating work, training, coaching and health” *Terry is also one of our coaches for our mixed boat and women’s crew!!

Q: What did you learn during training/tryouts that surprised you?
A: “Consistency, hard work, and commitment will take you a long way. But the most surprising is that I also learned countless life lessons (working through adversity, setting goals, etc...) that has helped me grow into a better person of the water as well”

Q: Favorite workout?
A: “30x 1 min on 1 min off”

Q: What are you excited to eat in Germany?
A: “Schnitzel and beer”

Q: Any tips or words of wisdom for those hoping to make premier in the future?
A: “I was one of the slowest kids in high school and I didn’t make u24 team. Keep training, stay consistent, stay learning, and find a training group that will push you to become a better paddler. Set goals for yourself and find sustainable methods to continuously improve and those gains will compound year over year. As cliche as this sounds, if I can do it as once a slow high school kid, then anyone can. Work hard, stay humble, and enjoy the journey!”
