It’s Pride Month; and we’re sending big love to the incredible LGBTQIA+ community that helps make San Francisco and DIAKADI such vibrant, inspiring places to be.
At DIAKADI, we believe everyone deserves to feel welcomed, respected, supported, and celebrated exactly as they are. For over two decades, our community has been built by people from all backgrounds, identities, and walks of life; and we wouldn’t want it any other way.
This year, more than ever, we’re reminded how important community, visibility, kindness, and showing up for one another truly are.
To our LGBTQIA+ clients, coaches, friends, family, and allies: we see you, we appreciate you, and we’re proud to stand beside you.
Happy Pride Month, everyone. Keep being you and keep kicking ass doing it.

Michelle and Coach Austin (.fitness) started working together in early 2024 following her osteoporosis diagnosis.
At the end of 2023, Michelle’s lumbar spine T score measured -3.0, placing her in the osteoporosis range. After a year of consistent strength training, her updated scan improved to -1.4, along with improvements across her total hip and femoral neck scores.
For T scores, the goal is to get as close to 0 as possible, making these changes especially significant.
Her results officially shifted from osteoporosis to osteopenia.
This kind of progress takes consistency, patience, and a training approach focused on long-term health. Coach Austin continues to help clients build strength that supports not only performance in the gym, but also longevity and overall quality of life.
Michelle and Coach Austin, keep doing it ALL and kick ASS doing it!

Ask the Coach: If you could give your younger self one fitness tip, what would it be?
We asked our coaches what advice they would give their younger selves when it comes to fitness.
Coach Mya ():
“If I could give my younger self one fitness tip, it would be this: Try your absolute hardest. Stop fearing the judgment of others. Lean into what feels hardest and stick with it because it can become one of your greatest strengths. Remember almost fainting after the middle school mile? Use that as fuel, because one day you’ll become a marathoner, a personal trainer, and someone who builds community around running. Discipline will take you further than talent ever could, and the only way you can fail is if you stop trying.”
Coach Brendan ():
“Don’t let other people hold you back, but be aware the person most likely to do this is yourself. You can do it all and more.”
