In November of 2013, there was a roller disco party held at the old Sacred Heart Church on Fell and Fillmore Streets in San Francisco. The place had been lying dormant for nearly 10 years when David Miles, San Francisco's "GodFather of Skate" got his crew together, cleaned up the place and transformed it into what is now the Church of 8 Wheels - San Francisco Roller Disco!!! The Church of 8 Wheels is a fellowship of people that celebrates life on wheels, 8 wheels in particular!!! We form a bond with others who rejoice on a beautiful day with great people and family that make up our flock. We are a caring, sharing and giving community of people that loves life with wheels on our feet. Today the Church of 8 Wheels is one of those unique happenings that expresses the essence of what makes San Francisco such a great place to live!!! It's "Best of the Bay 2014" in San Francisco Magazine, "Best of the Bay 2014" S.F. Bay Guardian, huge write ups in the Chronicle, The Bold Italic, and other blogs and websites both here and abroad!!! The Church is located @ Church at 554 Fillmore St (formerly Sacred Heart Church) in San Francisco. We're open Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

The GodFather's Wayback Machine!!! This is the 1982 Women's Champion. It's been about 45 years, so I could be wrong on the name. Could it be Tabatha King? Terrible T? If I'm wrong, please let me know.

The Godfather's Wayback Machine from 1991!!! Here is a clip from 6th Ave. Skatin Place in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park with Richard Humpfrey and the park skating crew. The little girl in the group is my daughter Melanie Miles who went on to be the first ever Red Bull National Women's Freestyle Champion in 1999.

For a lot of people, roller skating is one dimensional. Rink skaters, Dance skaters, park skaters, aggressive skaters and such. I LOVE IT ALL!!! This race I organized was featured on the front page of Sports Illustrated in 1991, the Bauer Point to Point, 138 mile Fresno to Bakersfield Rooadskate Race.

The year is now 1983. This is the 2nd time I presented the California Freestyle Championships in Golden Gate Park. I wasn't supposed to skate. I was the organizer and the announcer. There was a gap in the performances and I had to do something to fill the time. I didn't have a routine and totally forgot to do the coffin!!!
