The Mandala Folk Dance Center

Mandala will be closed until further notice due to the mandatory city lock down announced by Mayor Breed. We will re-open as soon as we are allowed.

Hi Folks:
Sadly we have to cancel our Spring party on Thursday, March 26 due the continuing virus crisis. We re-schedule a party with Staro Vino in the future. We hope everyone stays healthy.

Mandala's March Schedule:

March 4 (Thursday): All-request party night. Always easy dances, and teaching for new-comers in the first hour.

March 12 & 19 (Thursdays) In recognition of Baba Marta celebrations Edith will teach Dobrudjanska Reka and other Bulgarian Dances.

CANCELLED!!! March 26 (Thursday): Live music dance party with the band Staro Vino. Mark Jenkins will lead the band in Eastern European and Roma dances for your enjoyment. Light refreshments will be available. You may bring additions to the table, if you wish. Admission is $15.00.

CANCELLED!!! April 2 (Thursday): All-request party night. Always easy dances, and teaching for new-comers in the first hour.

Mandala schedule for December:

December 12 (Thursday): Edith will teach some of this years' Kolo Festival dances from Sonia Dion, Cristian Florescu and Joe Graziosi.

December 19 (Thursday): Annual Winter Solstice party.

December 26 (Thursday): Edith will review Kolo dances taught on the 12th .

January 2 (Thursday): All-request party night.

Mandala October Schedule:

October 3 (Thursday): All-request party night.

October 10, 17, 24 (Thursdays): Edith will teach dances from this year's Stockton Folk Dance Camp.

October 30 (Thursday): Mandala's Halloween Party. Costumes are fun, but optional. Bring a snack to share.

Mandala June Schedule:

June 13 & 20 (Thursdays): Edith will teach, Shumarsko, a Bulgarian dance taught by Gergana at Kolo Festival, and Dhipat/Omal, a Greek Pontic dance taught by Joe Graziosi.

June 27 & July 4 (Thursdays): All-request party night. Yes, we will be open on the Fourth of July for those of you not going away for the long weekend.

Mandala April Schedule:

April 11 & 18 (Thursdays): Edith will be teaching Levendikos and Milisou from Greece.

April 25 (Thursday): Party Night. All request dancing to recorded music.

May 2 (Thursday): Bay Area Dance Week. Free party. Come dance to music from the Balkans and Beyond. Please bring a friend and snacks, if you wish.

Mandala February Schedule:

February 14 & 21 (Thursdays): Edith will teach a Bulgarian Dance: Shumarsko, learned from Gergana at last year's Kolo Festival. She will also teach Vlasto's Rum Dum Dum, which we are calling Run Dum Dum number two, learned last year in Stockton.

February 28 & March 7 (Thursdays)" All-request Party Nights. All are welcome, bring a friend.

Mandala schedule for January:

January 10, 17 & 24 (Thursdays): Edith will teach an easy Island dance from Greece: Issios and Sborinka, a Dobrudzan dance learned from Gergana at last year's Kolo Festival. She will also review, an Israeli dance, T'filati, choreographed by Avnur Naim in 1994.

January 31 & February 7 (Thursdays): All-request party night. Bring a friend and snacks to share.
