Another strong 1Q profile with KAT obviously being one of the starters, locking in about 8-10 minutes in the opening stage and let's be honest--the offense runs through Brunson and Towns and the 3.5 line is much more forgiving for Towns than it is for a low-usage wing because he can score at all three levels.

On the season, he has only been hitting this line about 56% of the time but during the last 5-10 games, he has been averaging 80% hit rate. Home MSG environment helps, and the Knicks have been criticized for slow starts in this series, so there is a real tactical incentive to come out sharper. Additionally, the only miss from KAT was this last game and the bounce back probability is a real thing. He missed last game--very good chance he comes through tonight 💯

His recent 1Q profile is strong: 4.1 1Q PPG, 10.1 1Q minutes, 3.1 FGA, and he has cleared this in 7 of his last 10 per HOF and StatMuse data. On top of that, in his last 10 1st quarters, he is taking 2.2 threes per 1Q and shooting 50% from three, which is exactly the kind of shot profile we want. For someone with a median of 5-6 points in the 1Q during the postseason, I will happily take the 2.5 line any night.

New York has been an elite defense, listed at 104.2 defensive rating, and they're ranked 6th vs SF points and 19th vs SF 3PM, so this is not a pure matchup smash. But the Spurs’ starting group has been excellent early, with reports noting the Spurs have consistently built early 1Q leads in this Finals and that their starting lineup has been highly effective, regardless of the score at the end of the game 💯
