Join Valley-Wide Rec tonight, Friday, September 4 at Rancho Bella Vista Park in French Valley for a free movie under the stars. We will be screening "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie."
Be sure to bring something to sit on, snacks and the family for a fun-filled evening. We will provide free popcorn while supplies last. The movie will start when it gets dark.

Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District is inviting you to the grand opening celebration at Country View Park in Homeland on Saturday, September 19, at 10 a.m.
Festivities will include a brief ceremony, bounce house and free treats (while supplies last).
Located at 30355 Mattero Trail Court in Homeland (just off Briggs Road, north of Highway 74), this new 5-acre park features a ballfield, soccer field, two half-court basketball courts, dual play areas, two gazebos, and a public restroom to serve our growing community.
We hope to see you there.

Our offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 7 in recognition of Labor Day, but parks will be open as will Echo Hills Golf Course, so come out and have some fun. Offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Be sure to bring something to sit on, snacks and the family for a fun-filled evening. We will provide free popcorn while supplies last. The movie will start when it gets dark.

As we are in the Dog Days of Summer and Wednesday was National Dog Day, it's always time to celebrate our four-legged furry friends.
Valley-Wide Rec will do so on Oct. 3 during the 12th annual Dog Daze Canine Festival and Costume Contest at Aldergate Park in Menifee.
Dress your pooch in the cutest, scariest or other costume and compete for prizes. We even have a category for best human/pet combo.
Festivities begin at 9 a.m. with a vendor fair.
The park is at 28688 Aldergate Road.

While temperatures outside are scorching, so is the Coed Youth Basketball action inside Valley-Wide recreation centers in French Valley, Menifee, San Jacinto, Valle Vista and Wi******er.

We are about three weeks away from the start of the annual OLDlympics, a series of competitions for people 50 and older, which will take place from Sept. 14 to Oct. 6 in Hemet and San Jacinto.
Don't wait to register, as some of the activities are almost full.
Competitors can chose from among 20 events -- bench press, billiards, bingo, bowling, chair volleyball, cribbage, Fun-tathlon, golf, hand & foot, horseshoes, pickleball, pinochle, Scrabble, shuffleboard, swimming, table tennis, tennis, Texas Hold 'em, tournament Blackjack and track and field. The event wraps up with the Awards Banquet.
Fees for the 41st annual OLDlympics range from $5 for one event to $23 for unlimited events. And every competitor gets a T-Shirt!
