At our monthly Board meeting on Monday, October 19, Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District recognized Jennifer O'Farrell and the Healthy Valley Foundation for its commitment to the community.
The Healthy Valley Foundation has partnered with Valley-Wide on projects such as exercise equipment in parks and being a liaison that allowed the District to work with First 5 Riverside to offer free swim lessons this summer.

It's time to tip off. Registration for the next season of Youth Basketball in Hemet and San Jacinto is now open for children in first through eighth grades. There are divisions for coed and girls. Registration deadline is Nov. 30 and space is limited, so don't wait!
Register at the Sport Center in San Jacinto, the Valle Vista Community Center or online at gorecreation.org/2027-regional-youth-basketball-league
GRADES (for 2026-2027 school year): First through Eighth
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: November 30, 2026
LEAGUE PLAY: Monday through Saturday
FEE: $65 (Includes team T-shirt).

The Trunk or Treat at Wi******er-Domenigoni Park on Friday, October 23 will now be a traditional trick or treat event.
Children 12 and younger can stop by the facility and receive a goodie bag from 4 to 6 p.m., or while the supply lasts.
The park is at 32665 Haddock St., Wi******er.

Halloween came to Valle Vista for Valley-Wide's annual Halloween Block Party on Saturday, Oct. 17.
Costumed children made it almost impossible for judges to pick the award winners and candy was won in yard games before we showed a movie in the park.

Get a head start on the Trick or Treat season today, Oct. 17 at Valley-Wide's annual Halloween Block Party at the Valle Vista Community Center.
The event runs from 4 to 9:30 p.m. and includes a children's costume contest, yard games and crafts and concludes with an outdoor screening of "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie" once it gets dark.
The costume contest is for children 12 and younger. IT STARTS PROMPTLY AT 4 P.M.!!!! Age groups are 3 and younger, 4 to 6, 7 to 9 and 10 to 12. Categories are Scariest, Best Fairytale, Most Creative, Most Outrageous, Best Homemade, Funniest, Best Movie Theme and Coolest.
The costume contest, activities and the movie are free. Hot dogs, drinks and snacks will be available for purchase.
Bring something to sit on if you are staying for the movie in the park. Free popcorn and drinks will be available while supply lasts.
The center is at 43935 E. Acacia Avenue, Hemet.

We are inviting you to celebrate Valley-Wide's newest park in Wi******er at the Opening Ceremony for The Woods Community Park on Saturday, October 24.
Festivities begin at 10 a.m. with a brief ceremony. There will be bounce houses for the kids and free hot dog meals for the first 100 guests.
The Woods Community Park is at 31500 Prairie Loop Road, just north of Domenigoni Expressway.
We hope to see you there!

Mom & Me is back today, Wednesday, Oct. 14.
The program is for mom, dad, grandparents, caregivers and their children, ages 0-5 years.
There are songs, games, arts & crafts, snacks and a special guest each session.
Sessions will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays October 14, 21 & 28; Nov 4, 11 & 18; and Dec 2, 9 & 16 in the Michael Paul Gymnasium at Larry Minor Regional Park, 901 W. Esplanade Ave., San Jacinto.
The fee is $3 per family and $1 for each additional guest.

Registration is open for Coed Adult Volleyball at the Rancho Bella Vista Community Center in French Valley.
A 10-game season is scheduled to run from mid-November through December.
The fee is $70 per player or $595 per team (up to 12 players). Individuals players will be placed on a team. The deadline to signup is Nov. 6.
