Our Fuego Baseball 2029 boys went 3-1 this past weekend, taking home the 2026 16U Fall State Championship! That’s now 5 straight tournament championship appearances, with the boys continuing to compete and find ways to win.

Marcus Martinez was named Tournament MVP, putting together a monster weekend at the plate, hitting .889 with 3 home runs and 9 RBI!

Takeshi Ibuki earned the Tournament and Championship Game Ball for his outstanding work on the mound, striking out 13 batters over 6 innings.

Our pitching was outstanding on Sunday! In the semifinal, Colin Manago struck out 7 over 3.2 innings, while Andrew Lopez closed things out with 1.1 hitless, scoreless innings. In the championship, Takeshi Ibuki delivered 5 strong innings with 11 strikeouts, allowing just 1 run, before Wyatt Bothen shut the door with 2 scoreless innings and 2 strikeouts.

The bats came through in the championship game as well! Marcus Martinez had a home run, double, 2 runs and 3 RBI. Wyatt Bothen added a home run, 1 run and 2 RBI, while Lucas Dullaghan contributed a double, 2 runs and an RBI in the 8-1 victory!

Since August, this group has put together an impressive 18-3 record across five tournaments, competing against some outstanding teams along the way.

We are proud of the way these boys continue to show up, compete for each other and play Fuego baseball!

13 STRAIGHT WINS. 3 STRAIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPS. 🏆🏆🏆

Our Fuego 2029s went undefeated in the September to Remember Tournament, bringing home the 16U Open Division Championship!

The boys outscored their opponents 28-1 over the weekend, allowing just one run across four games. The championship extends their winning streak to 13 straight games and marks their third consecutive tournament title. During that run, they have outscored the competition 113-21.

Our pitching and defense were locked in all weekend. Our catchers did a tremendous job calling games and controlling the action behind the plate. Offensively, the boys came through with clutch hits, executed plays and found ways to manufacture runs when we needed them most.

Tournament MVP Marcus Martinez finished 7-for-9 with 5 runs and 5 RBI, including the game-winning RBI in our 2-1 championship victory over the California Bulldogs.

In the championship game, Lucas Dullaghan threw 6 innings without allowing an earned run and struck out 11. Wyatt Bothen drove in 9 runs over the weekend.

Great job Fuego 2029 squad! 🔥⚾️

Another great weekend for our Fuego 2029 boys!

The team went 4-0 over the weekend (August 22nd/23rd), finishing with wins over Brentwood Blast in the semifinal and Trosky in the Championship!

Really proud of the way these boys are playing right now. They continue to find different ways to win ballgames, pitching well, playing outstanding defense and executing team baseball when we need it! Hit and runs, sacrifice bunts, safety squeezes, big hits... these guys are doing their jobs and competing for each other.

That makes 9 WINS IN A ROW and BACK-TO-BACK TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIPS!

Great job boys! Keep working! 🔥⚾️
