The heart & soul of this business Grandma Lola Inang Victoria passed away peacefully at age 95.
I left corporate america in 2011, I moved back to San Jose, so I could take care of her at home, built this repair business from $20, with the skills she taught me… eventually reaching 500,000+ customers in over 30 countries since 2011.
Many of you got to meet her, got a peak of Essan’s humanity… I’m forever grateful we got to help so many people, share stories, and thank you for trying to convince her “The WHITE GUY” who owns the shop is Essan the whole time. She never believed me… 😭😆
She was a chirper troll sh*t talker, better than my NHLer friends 😆
She was a fearless, influential entrepreneur and community pillar in the Philippines, she always said “No matter who they are, they are people FIRST…“
She threw my fighting rooster at a politician speaking at a rally… 🐓🐓🐓🐓
The first hockey game i saw on TV was in 1986, at her uncle’s house (her Uncle was an influential powerful Judge, with a satellite dish), it was WJC between Canada & USSR… Saw Sergei Makarov Score… I was hooked ever since.
She also invented the word “PADGIC” which means “Magic” with pads.
She taught me how to sew, had me working her co-op market since I could walk, saved me from a moving tank in 1986, and showed me how to be a decent human being, especially to those who don’t always deserve it.
Her last wisdom was “Don’t stop helping people.”
That’s her legacy.
