Yesterday, the South Bay Labor Council and the San Jose Union Airport Coalition united outside San Jose International Airport, demanding justice for workers! ✊

Here are our key demands for airport workers:

1. Raise the Wage - Modernize the Airport Living Wage Ordinance to match the City of San Jose by July 2028.

2. Regulate Autonomous Vehicles- Ban driverless deliveries and ensure data transparency on their impact.

3. End Last-Minute Layoffs- Provide 90 days’ notice for any operational changes affecting work hours or layoffs.

Together, we can make a difference!

Standing with the workers who keep San José running. ✊

SBLC Executive Officer Jean Cohen joined members of IFPTE Local 21 and MEF-AFSCME Local 101 at the MLK Library to demand a fair contract that respects the workers who provide the essential services our communities rely on every day.

City workers deserve a contract that values their work, protects public services, and recognizes their contributions to San Jose.

IFPTE Local 21 and MEF-AFSCME Local 101 bargaining teams have been meeting with the City since February 2026, with little to show for it. They are eager to secure a fair contract that retains qualified staff and invests in the vital public services that they provide. To support their fight at the bargaining table, we’re rallying to demonstrate the strength of our unions and our coalition.

When: Wednesday, June 10 12pm - 1pm

Where: 1701 Airport Blvd. Ste. B-1130 San Jose

Lunch provided with RSVP. Link in bio. See you there!
