IFPTE Local 21 and MEF-AFSCME Local 101 bargaining teams have been meeting with the City since February 2026, with little to show for it. They are eager to secure a fair contract that retains qualified staff and invests in the vital public services that they provide. To support their fight at the bargaining table, we’re rallying to demonstrate the strength of our unions and our coalition.

United in solidarity ✊🏽
Today, union leaders from across the South Bay came together to support strong labor standards for data center development in San José. As the voice of more than 100,000 workers and their families, the South Bay AFL-CIO Labor Council is fighting to ensure that innovation and growth create good union jobs and protect our communities.
Data centers should be built and operated by skilled union workers under strong labor standards, including Project Labor Agreements and the protections outlined in SB 887. San José has the opportunity to lead nationally by proving that economic development must go hand in hand with worker protections.
