My first cross-country racing shoes were the Racer. I broke five minutes in the mile 8 times in my junior year, in the spike, a lovely blue suede spike with pin spikes!
My coaches, from Jim Marheinecke, Rich Grawer, Ralph Passarelli, Jesse Ochoa, Rocket Ray Devlin, Steve Polley, Steve Pensinger, and Dan Durante, all live in my memories and changed
my life! Coaches change lives daily.

From runs at Quicksilver Park in San Jose, CA, to Forest Park in Saint Louis, MO, to the cross-country course at the University of Notre Dame, runs live in my memories. I am surrounded by my memories, in my office, .

I have been an athlete, coach, and now journalist.
Running changes lives. Listen to where running takes you! Happy Global Run Day!
