Thanks to all of the Coaches , .kaaaiii, and for cornering all of us, whilst putting the work for yourselves as well. You all lead by example which is why we all follow in your footsteps.

Winning a tournament always leaves us with a sense of gratification, but in the end, what’s important is the work we do off the mats! Congrats to Ava on being this year’s no-gi pans champion. In addition to being a competitor, Ava also helps her father as the kid’s assistant coach

Great job, and great job to everyone at this years event especially for taking home first!!

Many things have changed through life’s ups and downs, but our friendship remains. Congrats, Nate. Seeing you go from classes inside a TKD studio to chasing your dream and building your gym has been amazing. You kept moving forward through it all, and I couldn’t be happier for you! Can’t wait to see what the next year brings! Congrats on your accomplishments and your second degree!!

The road is long but worth it!

9 años de cinta negra - tercero grado.

En 2012 volví a entrenar jiu-jitsu después de 4 años sin entrenar, reencontré amigos que creía que yo podría volver y mi apoyaron en este regreso a los tatames. .tiagocoringa amigos que estuvieron conmigo desde la cinta blanca y que me dieron mucha fuerza en este regreso.

Desde de volver, regrese a la lucha diaria, conciliar, trabajo, familia, hijos, estudio ... nuevo país, abrir una academia, empezar un nuevo sueño.

Hasta el día de hoy vengo logrando hoy con más apoyo, de todos mis cositos de Costa Rica, Fabian, que están a frente de la escuela de jiu-jitsu y todos los alumnos que hoy hacen parte de esta institución.

Agradezco a por la confianza depositada.

A ustedes, les debo algo que hoy es uno de los combustibles que me mueve! La familia de sudor!

There are certain moments and events in your life that you’ll remember because of the impact it had on you. Certain things/people in life that change and shape you into who you will become or are today, this was one of them for me.

If you knew me before you would know that I rarely spoke, very to myself and shy, always cared about people’s opinions. But as time has gone on I’ve met so many people that have helped me feel comfortable enough to be myself while still doing what I love and going for my passions in life. Being normal is overrated so if that’s your goal, don’t do jiu jitsu 🤣; last year I got to go to my first CTA camp after just starting to compete as a black belt and going against elite black belt females in multiple weight divisions (light feather, feather, open class) Very thankful I got to experience this with some people that helped me feel comfortable to be myself and enjoy this trip even more also thank you for letting us sleep in the shop and letting us get to know you along with a little insight to the business side of it all. This was one of many camps; we got to eat good foods, expand our jiu jitsu knowledge as well as help share our own; and meet more people that train and love this sport just as we do being their most authentic self. Remember be yourself unapologetically and those who are meant for your life will be there for you and show you it’s okay to be you. :)

They doubted me back in 2015 before my first ADCC title, it was my very first time competing at ADCC, so it was understandable for them to not have faith on me, I went there as the underdog and I won! When I came back in 2017 a heavier weight class they doubted me again, and again I proved them wrong! Before I became absolute champion in 2022 they were doubting me then too, and guess what happened?! They ate their words.. again!!

Please keep fueling me with your hate and doubts! I beg you to doubt me again, and in the end I’ll remember each one of you with a smile and you’ll be looking at me once again like an embarrassed wordless fool! 🥋🗡️

This weekend was the 2024 San Jose Spring open, gi and no gi. Since the IBJJg first started holding no gi tournaments in 2016 in San Jose we have one every time and this weekend was no different. I’d like to congratulate everyone who competed and tested themselves, no matter the outcome you are better for it. For the students who help in training and came out to support, thank you, none of this would be possible with out all of you. Next up Masons super fight with Nicky Rod and then onto worlds! Can’t wait!!

Congrats to everyone in the 808, bringing home the team belt!
