Some chapters of life change us forever.
Divorce is one of them.
After more than 30 years in family law, I've learned something that still stays with me...
Years from now, most people won't remember every court hearing, every document, or every argument.
But they will remember the decisions they made.
The decision they rushed.
The decision they avoided.
The decision they made out of fear.
Or the decision they had the courage to slow down and think through.
I've seen one thoughtful decision change the entire trajectory of a divorce.
I've also seen one impulsive decision create consequences that lasted for years.
That's why I believe divorce isn't navigated by reacting faster.
It's navigated by deciding wiser.
One day, this season will be behind you.
When you look back, I hope you won't measure this chapter by what you received...
I hope you'll measure it by the wisdom, integrity, and clarity you brought to it.
Because the divorce will end.
But you'll live with your decisions forever.

Sometimes life changes without warning.
One ordinary day becomes the day you receive the phone call you never expected.
A diagnosis.
A loss.
A relationship that begins to fall apart.
A dream that suddenly looks very different than it did yesterday.
None of us gets to choose every season we walk through.
But we do get to choose how we respond.
Over the years, I've learned that some of life's greatest growth doesn't happen during the easy seasons.
It happens when we choose faith over fear.
Wisdom over panic.
Hope over despair.
And one thoughtful step instead of one hurried reaction.
If you're walking through a difficult season today, don't feel like you have to have all the answers.
Just focus on the next right step.
One day, you'll look back and realize that what felt like the end of the story was actually the beginning of a new chapter.
Wishing each of you peace, strength, and hopeāno matter what season you're in. šš¦ā¤ļø

Some of life's hardest seasons have taught me lessons I never wanted to learn.
There have been moments when I wanted answers immediately.
Moments when I wanted certainty.
Moments when I wished I could control the outcome.
But over time, I've learned something that has changed my life.
Peace doesn't come from controlling every outcome.
It comes from doing the next right thing, acting with integrity, and trusting God with what we cannot control.
That doesn't make life's difficult seasons disappear.
But it does give us the strength to keep moving forward with hope instead of fear.
Whether you're facing a family challenge, a major life decision, uncertainty about the future, or simply carrying a burden that feels heavy today, I hope you'll remember this:
You don't have to have every answer today.
Just take the next right step.
Lead with love.
Protect your peace.
Trust that God is already working in ways you cannot yet see.
That's what I believe.
Wishing you a peaceful Saturday.

PROTECT YOUR PEACE.
The older I get, the more I realize that peace isn't something you find.
It's something you choose to protect.
Not every disagreement deserves your energy.
Not every criticism deserves a response.
Not every misunderstanding can be fixed.
And not every outcome is yours to control.
Sometimes protecting your peace means setting healthy boundaries.
Sometimes it means walking away from an argument that has no winner.
Sometimes it means slowing down before making a life-changing decision.
And sometimes it simply means remembering who you are and refusing to let someone else define your worth.
I've learned that peace isn't the absence of conflict.
Peace comes from knowing that your decisions align with your values.
So today, before you react, before you answer, before you make an important decision...
Ask yourself one question:
Will this protect my peaceāor steal it?
That answer may change everything.

BEFORE YOU MOVE OUT,
READ THIS:
Before you pack your bags and walk out the front door, know what that decision could mean for the long-term.
Moving out may feel like the only way to get some peace.
The tension is unbearable.
Every conversation turns into an argument.
You tell yourself, āI just need to get out of here.ā
I understand.
But, in divorce, a decision made for emotional relief today can create practical, financial, and strategic consequences tomorrow.
Where will the children stay?
Who will pay the household expenses?
What happens to access to financial information and important documents?
Will moving out affect the negotiations that come next?
And, perhaps most importantly: Are you making a temporary decision in an emotional moment that will be difficult to undo later?
Sometimes moving out is absolutely the right decision. Sometimes it is necessary.
But, unless safety is an issue, it should be a considered decision and not a reaction to the worst night of your marriage.
Before you make a major move, understand the whole picture.
Because one of the most expensive mistakes in divorce is making an important decision before you understand what happens next.
Before you decide, Just Ask Moiraā¢.

INSIDE THE DIVORCE WAR ROOM:
She got the house.
But did she win?
Iāve seen people fight hard for the house in a divorce.
Sometimes keeping it is absolutely the right decision.
And sometimes it isnāt.
A house comes with more than memories.
It comes with a mortgage.
Taxes.
Insurance.
Repairs.
Maintenance.
And, sometimes, a lifestyle that no longer fits the financial reality of one household becoming two.
That doesnāt mean you should sell it.
It means you should understand what keeping it will actually cost youānot just today, but five years from now.
Divorce decisions are rarely as simple as:
Who gets the house?
Who gets the investment account?
Who gets the business?
The better question is:
What will this decision mean for the life I want after the divorce is over?
That is the kind of question I believe people should be asking before they make decisions that may be difficult (or impossible) to undo.
Before you decide, Just Ask Moiraā¢.

No one gets married thinking theyāll someday negotiate who gets the Fourth of July.
Or the lake house.
Or the boat thatās been in the family for years.
Or who gets to watch the fireworks with the children.
Yet, for many families, thatās the reality this holiday weekend.
After more than 30 years helping families through divorce, Iāve learned that these conflicts are rarely about the holiday itself.
Theyāre about memories.
Traditions.
The life people thought they were going to have.
Thatās why I believe the most important decisions are made long before anyone steps into a courtroom.
When you understand what truly matters, you make better decisionsāand those decisions shape everything that follows.
If this holiday finds you navigating divorce or separation, I hope you find moments of peace, clarity, and grace.
Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Independence Day weekend. šŗšø

Did you know that your dog may be treated as property in a divorce?
Most people are shocked to learn that.
Because to them, their dog isnāt property.
Itās family.
Thatās exactly why I created The MOIRA Methodā¢.
After more than 30 years, I realized that too many people enter divorce reacting to legal issues before theyāve identified what truly matters to them.
For one family, itās keeping the business.
For another, itās protecting retirement.
For someone else, itās making sure the childrenāand yes, even the family dogāhave as much stability as possible.
When you start with your priorities instead of your panic, you make better decisions.
Thatās what The MOIRA Method⢠is designed to do.
Not simply react to a divorce.
Create a thoughtful strategy before small decisions become expensive mistakes.

One thing Iāve learned after more than 30 years working with people going through divorceā¦
The decisions people regret most usually arenāt made because they didnāt know the law.
Theyāre made because they were exhausted.
When youāre overwhelmed, itās easy to think:
āI just want this over.ā
I understand that feeling.
But some decisions deserve one more conversation⦠one more question⦠one more night to sleep on it.
Iāve seen how slowing down at the right moment can change everything that follows.
Thatās why I believe strategy isnāt about creating more conflict.
Itās about creating more clarity.
Because when the emotions settle, youāll still have to live with the decisions you made.
There really is a better way to move through the process.

Some of the most expensive divorce mistakes are not made in court.
Theyāre made before anyone ever files.
One rushed decision.
One emotional reaction.
One conversation with the wrong person.
And suddenly youāre trying to undo a chain of consequences that could have been prevented.
After more than 30 years in high-conflict litigation and family law, Iāve learned something surprising:
The biggest advantage isnāt having the most aggressive lawyer.
Itās making better decisions before the conflict takes over.
Thatās why I created The MOIRA Methodā¢ā to help people slow down, think strategically, and protect what matters most before costly mistakes begin.
Before you decide⦠Just Ask Moiraā¢.
