Hello Dancers Everywhere & Fans of GLEE🤩! DANCE THERAPY (DT) celebrates diversity and passion for the arts with a cheerful song by the Cast of GLEE. Fun facts: Two performers are over 60! The oldest is 69 (Dance On, Baby!🥳). One of us is a Pickleball Champ. One of us teaches martial arts. The youngest dancer, 39, saw us at a Xmas show 1 year ago and now performs with us! If you've ever dreamed of dancing or performing “some day,” take that leap! Go for it!😄

Performers take DANCE THERAPY Performance Workshops (DTPW) to prepare for shows like this (We rehearsed for 2 months to perform only 2:45 minutes 😂). On the other hand, DT class students enjoy a relaxed environment without the rigor or time commitment of DTPWs.

Dance Therapy 11/10/2025

Hello Dancers Everywhere who believe dancing is a super power just as you are-- beginner or seasoned professional-- because it makes your spirit and body feel joy! Here's another Dance Therapy video. A little behind-the-scenes info...The dancers in this video take our DTPWs (Dance Therapy Performance Workshops). DTPW is a commitment to learn a number in more detail than in class. If you listen to the counts of the music, it's a "waltz". You need to count 123456, 123456, ...and so on. We usually use songs with 8-counts so it took some adjusting, but it was fun to try something different. We spent over a month to learn and perform 45 seconds😂. A lot of our time was spent drilling once we learned the choreography and blocking, which took a while as there is a lot of intricacy in this number. It also has texture--mixing hard hits with softer movement. In Dance Therapy, we try to have a range of music and dance styles/movement to keep things interesting!

If you take Dance Therapy class, you would learn the same choreography but unlike the performers in DTPW, you would not learn blocking (the various postions or placement of performers on the "stage") or work on performance skills. In fact, when we learned this number in class, we progressed slowly and might have had some classes during which we learned only 3-6 counts of 6.

Hope you'll give Dance Therapy a try! It's a really unique experience especially if you take a DTPW. Beginners welcome!
