The Central Coast Motorcycle Association is a family oriented off-road motorcycle club based in San The CCMA also holds yearly events and fundraisers.

Some of these items include us being the official “Stewards” of the Pozo riding area in the Santa Lucia National Forest. We work with the local US Forest Service to maintain trails and our rights to ride. We are also working with San Luis Obispo County on zoning issues, which affect the clubs ability to acquire land for club members to use and to insure our families a safe place to enjoy our sport.

We’ve gotten a few more questions about this saturday’s poker run at navajo flat so lets address them:
1.) whats the loop?
We will be staging at navajo flats campground in the pozo la panza ohv area. 11156 red hill rd. All trails will be available for the ride, but we will only be riding in the clockwise direction of the trails to prevent any head ons. The way pozo trails fork apart and then connect again throughout the loop, you can take whatever you want. The roads in pozo are not part of our loop aside from designated sections where the road is shared with ohv to connect trails. Non street legal bikes are not allowed on the roads, and taking roads will cause you to miss your checkpoints for the event.

2) how does a poker run work?
At sign up you will be given a piece of paper that your card hand will be written on. From camp, begin your ride on a clockwise loop of the trails. At 5 spots throughout the loop, there will be a volunteer waiting for you with a deck of cards. You will pull a card each time and what you pull will be marked on your paper. Final card pull is at camp when you complete your loop. You hand in your paper, and winners are picked by top three best hands and worst hand.

3.) do i have to go fast?
No. This is not a competition event. Only competition is your luck at cards with friends. Have fun!

To all: We will be having a trail work day on Saturday March 28th at 0900, meeting at Navajo Flats OHV staging areas. We will be doing handwork (brushing) and fencing on Las Chiches (lower section.) You can bring a motorcycle to get to the work area, but we will also have UTVs to transport people/material. Bring gloves, hat, sunscreen, water. If you have loppers or a small electric chainsaw you can bring those, but we should have tools including loppers as well. We will supply lunch so contact me (email/text/call) if you are planning on working so I can get the correct amount of food.

Thanks,

Hadley
