Excellent conditions in the bay the last couple of days. There is an explosion of Nudibraches, Navanax, Sea hares. A pipe fish was spotted and a fringehead. I was doing lessons with a 12 and 13 year old who were certified yesterday. What a treat they had. Oh I forgot to mention 15 to 20 feet of vis and we jumped up into the 60's.

A couple topside pics from last weekend. We dive Coleman in less than ideal condition but eventually had about four feet of vis. On the bright side there is a super bloom of Hermissenda Opalescent. Literally nearly a 1000 seen. Sunday was Target Rock with vis to 10 to 12 feet. It's a little different out there after the dredge has finished. Lots of life in there right now. On the tide it's a bit chilly at 54 degrees. On the lower tide it was 57.

It's not just the Yaquina dredge working to keep Morro Bay safe for sea goers.
The USAV Yaquina is a 200-foot trailing suction hopper dredge operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Primarily serving the Pacific Northwest and California, it functions like a giant vacuum cleaner to remove sand and sediment from shallow ports, coastal entrances, and shifting river channels
Yesterday the USCG buoy tender was working just outside the harbor as well.
USCGC George Cobb (WLM-564): A 175-foot coastal buoy tender homeported in San Pedro, California. Her crew maintains over 178 floating aids to navigation along the state's coast, with a specific focus on major commercial ports including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Long Beach, and San Diego
Thanks for keeping us safer in

Great weekend last week. We certified more young divers. Kind of interesting how group courses shape up. This one had just youth out of nowhere. Four new great divers were made and guessing they will dive for many days to come. We went to Santa Cruz island on the Spectre Dive Boat want to go diving. Were going again on the 18th of April. Come dive or take same Advanced Open Water training.

Congratulations to Riley for completing his Divemaster certification. Welcome to pro status. Our DM program is in depth and you are trained as though you will become an instructor or not. No one week classes here. Lots of hands on and some time commitment but its well worth the investment. Im sure you will see him leading social dives, helping out with classes, doing refreshers and guided dives too.

Were heading out to the Channel Islands Sunday the 29th. If you want to join us let us know. Conditions for this time of year have been better than average with visibility holding 30-50 feet.
