Back to the winning ways! The birds were in full flight last Sunday--15 showed, and we played pure Vulture soccer--passing and moving off the ball--I'd say the best performance we've had in a while.

Kelsey, Caitlyn and Layne all had goals, and Jenna and Ali each had 2!

Tomorrow we get Impact on the upper field at 9:00 if you want to come watch.

Tough battle today. 25 on the roster 11 showed up. We welcome two new birds, Erin and Amanda. Layne played sweeper with Lydia, Erin and Maria holding down the defense. Becca was great in goal and brought her new dog Miley to cheer us on. Barb had three great headers that almost went in. Lauren got the lone Vulture goal in her typical scrappy fashion... This time with the left foot!

Next week we get Crush on the upper field at 10:45 if you want to come watch.

For the second week in a row, your birds beat the competition by a touchdown! Goals by Kelly, Lauren (2), Layne, Kit, Jenna M and Ali. Well played by all--but taking a picture was a little harder--

Sorry it's been a bit since the last post--so much rain! Since then we tied Napoli, then the next game we played was also Napoli (thanks to all the rain outs). We lost that one 2-5, so it will be a tough road for the Birds to get another star this year.

Speaking of star's new bird Jillian had a nice hat trick today against Ice (who usually is a very tough team for us--they got us 1-0 earlier in the season). We had 14! including Ruby and her niece Ezli. As well as another new bird Anna (who is a goal keeper too!)

More about todays game--Allie got us started finishing a nice goal that Lydia assisted, Then Kelsey got a feed from Allie making it 2-0 at the half.

The second half the Vultures just proved too much for the 10 Ice players. Awesome ball control, lot's of switching and passing. Anna hopped into goal for the second half and we got to see a little Becca playing up top, then back as left back.

The back line consisted of Becky, Mariah (who crushed opponents today) Ruby back at sweeper and Bella. Turns out Ezil likes centerback like her Tia, and traded off with her. Maria helped resting the backs too--so nice to have subs!

The midfield of Allie, Kelly and Kelsey and Lydia out wide worked wonderfully.

Lauren got the party started in the second half with a great goal, then it was time for the Jillian show. One of the goals was a thing of beauty--dipping over the keeper.

We get a week off, then we get High Voltage on the 16th at 9 on the upper field. Come out and watch!
