Hey everyone just a reminder that preseason practice starts tomorrow!!! We will be meeting on the Mott lawn @5:30 for stretches so please be there! So excited to meet all of you!

Congrats Annie on earning your degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting! Following her amazing job at SLO, she will be, “working at a public accounting firm in San Francisco in the fall”, and is, “ traveling to Spain this summer!” She has, “played water polo since freshman year of high school.” She said, “I will miss getting to practice every night with such amazing women who know how to work hard and have fun.” Her rookies were Evie and Brooke!

Congrats Denise on accomplishing a Liberal Studies degree with a Spanish Minor! Following her undergrad, she will be studying to earn, “Cal Poly’s multiple subject teaching credential and a masters in curriculum and instruction.” From her experience in the club she said, “Poly polo gave me many lifelong friends along the road. One of my favorite memories is winning regionals at UCLA last year. It was a great way to end my last season.” She has played since she was 12 for about 10 years! She stated, “The thing I will miss most about Poly polo is being able to play the sport I love with my favorite people.” Her rookies were Sydney S., Sophia, and Shreya!

Congrats Sam for graduating with a degree in Wine and Viticulture! Sam you were always smiling in the pool, during practice and games, and we can imagine you were smiling getting that diploma! Sam will be, “Working harvests at Gloria Ferrer and Wheeler Farms. And then off to New Zealand for more winemaking experience!” She stated that, “ My favorite memories are from tournaments and banquets!” Her experience of college polo was playing all four years! Something she will miss is, “cheering “Stang Nation Baaabbbyyy” with the whole team before lining up to play.” Her rookies were Nicola and Paulina!

Congrats Sierra on achieving a degree in Liberal Studies with so much involvement in SLO's clubs and academics! We are so excited for you in getting your multiple subject teaching credential at Cal Poly next year! We all know what an amazing teacher you will be! Sierra’s favorite memory from her experience on polo was Nationals at Notre Dame her freshman year! She has carried out 9 years of water polo and she will miss the team sport with all her friends! Her rookies were Lauren T., Lauren B., and Kathryn!

Congrats Dana on all your hard work paying off for your future with a BS in Marine Sciences! Following graduation Dana will be, “moving to the Netherlands to go to Wageningen Universiteit and research for my masters in Aquaculture and Marine Resource Management.” Which is fabulous after her amazing job in the pool! From her past of playing 8 years total and 4 years at SLO, her “favorite memories are how well we played as a team during all the regionals tournaments and also when we went to nationals and in every game/ tournament you could tell that our team was having the most fun out there.” Looking back at her experience in SLO she said, “One thing I’ll miss is the team as a whole because it was so much fun to be around everyone and even though practice took up so much time it was worth it to spend with such fun and amazing teammates/friends.” Her rookies were Emma P., Sara, and Weller.

Congrats Emily on your terrific accomplishment! We are so proud of all that you’ve done for the club, yourself, your degree, and your continuous leadership for our team!
Here is a statement from our fearless Em:
“Hi Hi,
I graduated as a Marine Science major with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. I am currently working as a Naturalist for an outdoor education school that introduces 5th-8th graders to the ocean ecosystems. Cal Poly women's water polo gave me a space to be myself and was the first group of people I felt comfortable expressing my sexuality with. I will forever be grateful for the laughter, encouragement, support, and kindness that everyone has shown me and taught to me. I played polo for 8 years and will miss everything about it but hopefully I’ll get the chance to coach this amazing team next year. My rookies included Annie Ritcey, Emma Peters, Nicole Cottman, and of course Jordan Skow.”
