In Motion Events has always been a family business, and today our family is grieving an unimaginable loss. Luca was deeply loved, and his absence will be felt forever by all of us who were lucky enough to know him.

We are incredibly grateful for the love, kindness, and support that have surrounded our family during these heartbreaking days.

From motivational messages to the ones that made us laugh mid-mile, our spectators absolutely understood the assignment.

Three races. One crown. 👑👑👑

These runners showed up at Carlsbad, came back for GOVX San Diego, and finished the journey at America’s Finest City to earn the 2026 SoCal Triple Crown.

That is three race mornings, three finish lines, and a whole lot of miles in between. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🔥

Congratulations to every Triple Crown finisher who took on all three events this year. We loved getting to celebrate your accomplishment with you at AFC and see that well-earned crown around your neck.

We were honored to have a local news team go behind the scenes with In Motion Events ahead of this year’s America’s Finest City Half Marathon & 5K to share more about the people, history, and year-round work that bring race day to life.

AFC has been part of San Diego’s running community for nearly 50 years, so having the opportunity to share the story of In Motion Events, our founder Lynn Flanagan, and the team carrying her legacy forward today made this feature especially meaningful to us.

A huge thank you to Christelle Koumoue and the team for taking the time to tell our story and shine a light on everything that happens long before thousands of runners take their first steps on race morning. 🎥

We are incredibly grateful to be part of this community—and proud to continue building on a legacy that began nearly five decades ago.

Now, we’re already looking ahead to something very special: the 50th America’s Finest City Half Marathon & 5K in 2027. ❤️

Whether you conquered 13.1 miles across San Diego or took on the 5K through Balboa Park, we are incredibly proud of every mile.
