This month, I found myself asking a question I hadn’t slowed down enough to truly ask…

What truly makes me happy?✨

And somehow, the answer kept bringing me back to one thing… Home.💜

The funny thing is, my life doesn’t look like what most people would imagine when they think of home or motherhood. I co-parent. My boys have two homes in different states. I don’t get every morning with them. I don’t get every dinner, every practice, every football game, or every night under the same roof.

There are moments I miss. Moments I wish I could be there for. But this month reminded me that home isn’t always one house. Sometimes home is getting on a plane just to sit beside them. Sometimes, it’s watching my 14-year-old fall more in love with football and listening to them talk about the things that light them up! Or the laughter, the little moments you wish you could freeze in time.♥️

My world has been slowly changing. I can feel my boys growing. And I can feel myself growing with them. Nothing makes me happier than watching my boys thrive. Watching them discover what they love. Watching them become who they’re meant to be.✨♥️

And knowing that no matter what our family looks like from the outside, I still get to be their mom. I still get to stand beside them.

Maybe that’s what August came to teach me. That happiness isn’t always found in the life you thought you would have. Sometimes, it’s found in the life you’re learning to embrace. In the moments you do get. The laughter. The football games. The plane rides. The dreams you’re still brave enough to chase.🌙✨♥️

And the people who will always feel like home, no matter how many miles are between you.

My world is changing. My boys are growing. And I’m learning that home isn’t a place I have to find. It’s something I carry with me. 🤍

I had an absolute blast this past weekend, but after all the fun, I was definitely feeling the effects…😬🤣
Between the dehydration and all the running I’ve been doing lately, my upper back was feeling especially stiff..

I’ve been running much more consistently lately, and with the increase in mileage comes a lot more repetitive demand on my upper body.

I woke up this morning feeling really stiff and achy through my shoulders and upper back…probably from all that arm swinging while running. 😂

I knew if I went straight into lifting without addressing it, my body would start compensating somewhere else. And that’s usually when movement doesn’t feel as good as it should.🙃

So between clients today, I took an hour to work on restoring some mobility through my upper back. I’m not going to lie… it didn’t feel great while I was doing it 😅, but afterward I felt so much lighter, moved better, and my body was ready to train.

It’s a good reminder that mobility isn’t just something you do when you’re injured. It’s part of training. It’s improving your ability to move through a full range of motion without restrictions. The better you move, the better you run, lift, and recover.

Let’s talk about Pelvic Floor..🫠

I’ve worked with a lot of women who struggle with pelvic floor dysfunction—whether it’s leaking, heaviness, pain, or simply not feeling confident in their bodies when they lift or move.

One thing I’ve learned is that while pelvic floor exercises and connection drills have their place, they’re often not the missing piece. We spend so much time talking about Kegels, breathing drills, activation, alignment, and cues that we sometimes forget the bigger picture.

The pelvic floor isn’t meant to run the show. It’s meant to respond.

It responds to how we breathe, how we organize our ribcage and pelvis, how we manage pressure, how we use our core to create and resist movement, how well our hips generate force, and how we progressively load our bodies. It also responds to how well we recover and fuel ourselves.

I think us women (including myself - me before) I think we sometimes focus so much on isolated exercises that we forget to build real capacity. The goal isn’t for women to think about their pelvic floor every second they’re lifting or running or jumping. The goal is to create a body that moves well, breathes well, manages pressure efficiently, and becomes stronger over time. Spend sometime on body awareness, connection, coordination with your pelvic floor.

That’s the difference between chasing symptoms and building a sustainable system.💛

My philosophy has always been to help women build strong functional bodies, not just stronger pelvic floors. When the entire system works together, the pelvic floor can do exactly what it was designed to do: respond to the demands placed on it, instead of trying to carry the entire load on its own.

So the end goal of my vent: is….We don’t need to fear lifting. We need to build bodies that can handle it.

Lately I’ve been reminding myself that life is only as good as the mindset I choose to have.

Watching my boys laugh over a simple game of cards from my childhood reminded me that some of the best moments in life aren’t extravagant…they’re the ones we almost overlook. It’s so easy to focus on what’s missing or what’s going wrong, but there’s still so much good right in front of us if we’re willing to see it.

If this resonates with you, I hope it reminds you to guard your peace and appreciate the little moments. They end up meaning the most. 🤍
