Grupo Folklórico Ocotochtli

Grupo Folklórico Ocotochtli Hello! This is the official page for Grupo Folklorico Ocotochtli @ Texas State University.

Please feel free to like our page to stay informed on our events, classes, performances, and competitions. In November of 1993, ten students representing Hispanic organizations at the Texas State campus, gathered to share their culture at the annual homecoming talent show. Because of an award winning performance, Grupo Folklorico emerged into a student campus organization that is alive and well to this day. Since its inception, it has shared much success and has performed throughout the University and its surrounding community. We, the current generation of Bobcats, hope to bring pride to our folklorico veterans and our University with our new folklorico dancers!

Such an exciting first week of performances!!! 🇲🇽✨Thank you to Viva TXST and Buda Public Library for inviting us to share our beautiful culture!

This past week, we showcased 3 regions: Baja California, Sinaloa, and Jalisco! Each region has their own traditional attire and distinct dance style, and we are proud to bring these traditions to life with every performance.
