Good evening, Aftermath Family,

We wanted to reach out and let everyone know that the gym will be closed tonight. We recently had a family emergency, and there are some things that require our immediate attention.

We hope you all understand, and we truly appreciate your patience and support during this time.

We do plan to have the gym open tomorrow at our normal hours. If anything changes, we will notify everyone as soon as possible.

It was awesome watching the new bees get in there and go through their first full sparring today!
These kids are showing determination, grit, and heart. They’re stepping outside their comfort zones, pushing through the nerves, and learning what it really means to fight for something.
This is what it’s all about — building confidence, teaching discipline, and keeping the dream alive one round at a time.

Proud of these young fighters! Keep working, keep learning, and most importantly… never quit! 🥊💪

Six years old and eight years old… and today, they stepped into the ring for their FIRST SPARRING SESSION! 🥊❤️

This is what it’s all about! Watching these young fighters learn, grow, work hard, and chase a dream makes every early morning, every long day, and every sacrifice worth it.

We’re working hard to keep the dream alive—one round, one lesson, and one young fighter at a time! 💪🥊

It was an eventful weekend of amateur boxing!

Manny Mendoza advanced to the finals at the National Jr. Golden Gloves in Allen, Texas, but came up just short in a hard-fought bout against a talented boxer from Hawaii.

A huge shoutout to Robert Clemente and the Boxing team for keeping Manny company and working his corner throughout the tournament.

Meanwhile, on Saturday in San Antonio, Julian “Lil Jay” Castillo faced a tough, fast opponent and lost a close split decision. Lil Jay fought with heart from start to finish—he never gave up and never backed down. The progress he’s making is incredible, and we’re proud of the way he represented himself.

This was Lil Jay’s first loss in over a year, but setbacks are part of the journey. We learn, we grow, and we’ll be back stronger. 💪🥊

Today we had the pleasure of working with three freshmen from Texas State Bobcats men’s basketball — Kole Grandison, David Abisogun, and King Sanders. 🥊🔥

They came in and got after it today. High effort, great attitudes, and they attacked every drill we threw at them.

For their first time boxing, they looked really good and showed a lot of potential. We respect the work ethic and competitiveness they brought into the gym.

Appreciate y’all coming through to Aftermath Boxing. Keep grinding — we’ll be rooting for y’all this season! 💪

It’s was a great weekend of boxing in San Antonio.
Lil Jay Castillo boxed his way to a victory. Jay continues to build confidence & progress. Manny Mendoza fought a tough opponent & fought well. He didn’t get the win but I was impressed with his foot work & his combinations that we worked on together throughout the week. He continues to progress & improve.
Back to the grind.
