The residents enjoyed an evening of Scottish music and dance

It was a lovely afternoon to be outside and performing at Kelly Park in San Jose as part of a Mosaic Music and Dance event!

This celebratory medley, titled "Decades of Dancing" was devised by Jennifer Kelly on the occasion of a milestone birthday for her husband, John Kelly. Together, Jennifer and John Kelly founded The Red Thistle Dancers and spent decades building one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s best-known Scottish dance performance groups, sharing Scottish Country and Highland Dance through performances, workshops, recordings, and teaching. The medley reflects both their lifelong dedication to Scottish dance and the joyful spirit of celebration and community that has always characterized the Red Thistle Dancers.

The Red Thistle Dancers performed two shows at the Palo Alto Commons assisted living facilities, bringing Scottish dance to the residents there. It was a fun show and we appreciated the enthusiastic audiences .
