My story and commitment to this challenge.

I’m turning 40 this year, growing up I heard of families with relatives being affected by Alzheimer’s. I’ve had close family members who’s lost immediate family to this disease and it’s hard to see how much it affects people and families on a daily basis. Now days the numbers of cases with Alzheimer’s, Dementia and memory loss have been rising to the top threatening disabilities.

I’ve learned more about Alzheimer’s growing up and it’s a must understand topic for young and adults as it affects more general population not necessarily depending on our age, ethnicity or socioeconomic status.

Studies have found that there are as early as 20 years in advance on set symptoms to this disease. In order for us to be proactive about it like many other diseases we must tackle on by being aware of these symptoms and what are the causes.

For over a decade as a Personal Trainer and also as a son, grandson, nephew, godson, cousin and friend I encourage and empower many to be involved not only in the physical aspect of well being but also in our mental health and well being. There are so many free - FREE - platforms to learn and understand from that we are fully capable to act and the things we have control over our health and habits which can speed or delay this disease. Things like sleep, stress, how much physical activity have we accustomed our body’s to endure, becoming insulin resistant and slightly having elevated blood pressure are some of the areas we could choose to be better informed and act on it.
