Opened a box last night that's been sitting unopened for decades. Found a bunch of trophies from past matches. These were my favorites that I shot at. The candy in the Bianchi Cup jar has been in there since 1993. In the 1989 Bianchi Cup I had a problem with my scope and came in 2nd to last place. In the 1993 Cup I won the Marksman class.

A bunch of the original members of the Hotshots are planning an old timers match for people who shot there when the club was in it's infancy. To qualify for the match the rules are pretty simple-

1. Must have shot Hotshots matches at Richmond between 1985-1995

2. Shoot in the same USPSA classification you were back then.

We're still tweaking the equipment rules but at this point -

1. No high cap mags, or only loaded with max 10 rounds

2. There must be some leather somewhere on your rig. i.e. Ernie Hill Speed leather rigs from 80's-90's. Or Safariland.

With the weather soon to turn bad we're planning on doing it sometime in the spring. That way it will give us time to track down shooters we haven't seen in 30 years, build a pool of prizes and make some commemorative shirts.

So far these guys are on board for the match. If you know anyone that shot back then with the Hotshots please forward their name and contact info if possible.I'll keep adding to the list as more people respond:

Dave Uchida
Ebert Kan
Danny Villamin
Angelo Spagnoli
Tom Jow
Stan Huey
Kelly Jones
Alan Chun
Mike Quilopo
Wayne Leong
Laurence M Reisland
Thomas Chan
Lorenzo Angeles

Working on some new (old) photos from the Hotshots from the late 80's to 90's. I'll get them uploaded as soon as I get them scanned. We didn't have digital cameras back then.

Found out today at the Cow Palace gunshow that Paul Major died back in 2004 of lung cancer. Also Margie remarried a few years ago and is now living in Seattle.

A bunch of us went down to LA to shoot in the 1988 West Coast Invitational. The match was held on the old Steel Challenge range. All the greats were there- Rob Leatham, Brian Enos, Chip McCormick, J. Michael Plaxco, Stu Mullins. Where else do you start a stage laying next to a blow up s*x doll?

Shooting at a CCAPS (Central California Association of Practical Shooters) match. Always a great shoot but it was usually pushing 100 degrees on match day. A really friendly club run by a great group of people.

In 1990 The Richmond Hotshots hosted their first major match. Top shooters like Rob Leatham, Michael Voight and 1989 Steel Challenge winner Angelo Spagnoli were in attendance.
