Mindset brings clarity.
Clarity creates freedom.
That's where joy lives.
And from that place, better decisions, better work and better results follow.
Congratulations 2026 New York Knicks, masters of mindset!

Mindset makes champions.
Both teams had the skills, the training, the desire and the coaching. The Knicks had the mindset.
Coming back from double-digit deficits in four of five games, including an historic 29-point comeback to win with 1.2 seconds left in the game.
A champion shakes the hand of the opposing coach. A champion keeps their cool when thrown to the ground by an opponent. A champion gets the ring.
Mindset is everything. Don't take it from me, take it from the Kings of New York.

The Sane Studio Webinar: The ABCs of Designing a Life that Supports Your Work (Not the other way around) — YES2YUM Whole Studio Business Consultant Coach for Interior Designers and Architects
This webinar is part of NYCxDESIGN. A liberating mindset shift for principals used to carrying everything. Most Principals & studio leaders unconsciously build their lives around the business. But the real magic happens when your life becomes the source of energy that fuels the business.

Every business owner carries a few beliefs about money, work, and success.
Some of them helped us get where we are.
Others quietly keep us stuck.
For example:
• Making money has to be hard
• If I want more, I’m being selfish
• No one will do it as well as I will
• My value comes from how much I produce
Beliefs like these often come from family history, culture, or early career experiences.
They can run in the background for years without us noticing.
Until one day the business has grown… but the pressure hasn’t.
That’s usually a sign something deeper is running the show.
A simple exercise I like to offer founders:
Which belief about success are you ready to retire this year?
Not fix.
Not improve.
Retire.
Sometimes that single shift creates more space than any new strategy.

One belief I see a lot among founders is this:
If I’m not exhausted, I’m not working hard enough.
It’s rarely said out loud.
But it shows up in how people run their businesses.
Working late even when the work could wait.
Holding onto decisions others could make.
Feeling uneasy when things feel calm.
For many people, this belief was inherited long before they started a business.
Maybe you watched your parents work constantly.
Maybe your early career rewarded overwork.
Maybe hustle was simply the culture.
So exhaustion became proof of effort.
The problem is that when a business grows, that belief can quietly keep the founder stuck in survival mode.
Prosperity doesn’t actually require constant strain.
In fact, the businesses that scale well usually depend on the opposite:
Clear thinking.
Delegation.
Systems.
Leaders who aren’t running on empty.
Something worth reflecting on:
Where did you learn what “working hard” is supposed to look like?

Many founders believe the next level of growth will come from better strategy, better marketing, or better systems.
Sometimes that’s true.
But after working with a lot of business owners, I’ve noticed something else:
The real growth ceiling is often internal.
The business evolves.
The leader is still operating from the mindset that built the early stage.
That early mindset was useful:
• Do everything yourself
• Watch every dollar
• Solve every problem
• Say yes to every opportunity
But at some point, the same thinking that helped you build the business starts to slow it down.
Not because it’s wrong.
Because the business is now asking you to lead differently.
Less doing.
More trusting.
More perspective.
The external growth of a business almost always requires internal growth from the person leading it.
A question I sometimes ask founders:
Has your business outgrown the mindset that built it?
