Last week on Buttercup, we focusedon simple commands and reinforcing her understanding of the aids, along with helping her become content just standing quietly. this is her third ride and is progressing very nicely.
We're also looking for her to licking, chew, sighing, and drop the head, to show that she's releasing tension, while understanding and accepting the commands.
Pro tip: Building a connection with your horse is just as important as the work itself. It’s not always about getting on and getting the job done—the stronger the relationship, the better the experience for both horse and rider. 🐴

November 15, 2025 Schooling show
As part of our show, participants got to play a game of tag! Riders that are "it" must use their whips to gently tag other horses, while remaining "in bounds". This is the largest game of tag we've ever done or seen!

We have commenced week 2 of training for a rescued ex-bucking horse. Last year he was evaluated at 17. We decided it would be too much to retrain him. We brought him back in 2 weeks ago to teach him to be trimmed, he would barely let us touch them over winter. I am sure that he was put in stocks. It has taken us a little while to get him to trust us and allow us to pick those feet up and keep them up. He is now letting us trim him by doing small amounts at a time. Good job Sammy.
